The NCAA 2010 Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship was quite the meet for a handful of former NAC standouts. This year it wasn’t the Auburn Tigers or even the Arizona Wildcats who took home the trophy, it was the Texas Longhorns. NAC swimmer, Alan Maher, was elected Team Captain by his University of Texas teammates for the 2009-2010 college swimming season. It’s a huge honor considering that teammates like Ricky Berens (Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record holder), Dave Walters (American Record Holder), Drew Livingston (USA National Diving Champion), and numerous other All-Americans were among those who voted him to lead them into what they hope is the next NCAA National Championship Title. 2009 US Open Lovelace Wins 200 Breast At US Open! Curtis Lovelace finishes his summer in style by winning the 200 breastroke at the US Open in Federal Way Washington August 3-9. This swim caps off a fantastic summer for Lovelace. In July Curtis came within a few tenths of a second of qualifying for the United States World Championship team. NAC took 104 swimmers to the 2010 District West Championship meet this past weekend in Brentwood, TN. For some swimmers it was their final meet of the season and for others it was a last chance to qualify for the Southeastern Championships.
