Officials
Officials are required and necessary for swim meets to take place. Officials require training and certification that occur throughout the year. We are always looking for more officials to help run our meets.
Types of Officials
- Stroke and Turn Judge - Observes the swim, turns, and finishes of the swimmers for compliance with the technical rules of swimming
- Starter - Ensures that all siwmmers have a fair start
- Administrative Official - Ensures fair and accurate times are recorded with traceability, involved with the "dry"side details of the meet, and helps ensure that meet processes are in alignment with the posted meet information
- Referee - Responsible for supervising officials at a meet and ensuring that all rules are observed
- Chief Judge - Serves as mentor to the Stroke and Turn Officials, act as the liasion between the deck referee and the ST officials
