Rule interpretation re two swimsuits -- The USA Swimming Rules and Regulations Committee has announced a rule interpretation which, effective immediately, prohibits the use of more than one swimsuit at a time during any USA Swimming sanctioned or approved competition.

The High School League Season came to a close this weekend. The following MCAT Swimmers participated in their league Chapionships for their respective schools May 8,2009 and May 9.2009. MBL’s Emir Yilmaz took second in the 100 fly with a best time and 1st in the 100 back going 56.7. MCAT Swimmers swim their best at WEST LC Meet on April 18 & 19,2009 Speaking of Best, let's start off with Rachel Best who swam 100% best times at the meet, dropping 11.9 seconds in her 50 free going 43.87. She also dropped 8.45 seconds in the 50 back, going 58.96. Liz Whalen, who is not afraid to enter or swim any event, long or short, netted 100% best times in all of her races. There were some awesome swims by Monterey County Aquatic Team (MCAT) this past weekend at the Cabrillo Threshers meet in Santa Cruz! Amanda Cavazos swam the 100 fly and the 200 free for the first time. She swam fast enough where she will be ranked in the top 10 for 8un. girls in Pacific Swimming. Daniel Cavazos dropped 25 seconds in his 200 free. Juliette Leonard won both the 50 and the 100 breast stroke. Karlee Tomaso achieved 3 new "A" times which qualifies her for 10un. MCAT swimmers Tyler Wells and Adam Fahmy in their second HS season meet along with their team mates broke the Palma HS school record going 1:48.00 in the medley relay. They have assured themselves of spots on 2 CCS relay teams. Both athletes are dancing closely around several CCS cuts. Grant Hashimoto Recruited to Cal Sate Northridge to swim for a NCAA D1 school. This past weekend, after a recruiting trip to CSN for swimming, Grant was assured by the coach that he had a place on the team. The letter of intent is in the mail. We will be sure to get photos of him signing.
