The trio of Liliana Casso, Andy Lau and Eugene Tee represented TSM at the Short Course Junior National Championships from December 8-10 at the University of Texas, Austin. In the Women's events, Miss Casso posted HUGE drops in the longer Freestyle events. Her time of 16:56.27 in the 1650 Free was a personal best time by 21 seconds, good enough for 16th place in a field of 29 swimmers. From December 8-10, some of the world’s top swimmers will take part in the 2011 Can-Am Open Swimming Championships hosted by U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC), in La Mirada, Calif. One such swimmer is TSM's own, 13 year-old Serafina King! The event is one of the final warm-ups before the U.S. Paralympic - Swimming team trials and the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, England. TSM ended the second day of Junior Olympic competition in 2nd place in the combined team race, trailing Brea Aquatics by only 42.5 points. There were plenty of great swims at Cal Lutheran University, but Thursday's race of the day belonged to Matthew Chen.
