DOWNTOWN SLC -- For the second consecutive year, members of the Race Swami swim club spent a day volunteering at The Road Home, a social services organization located on the western edge of downtown Salt Lake City. The Road Home is a private non-profit agency that assists individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake County. Grant Brings SWAMIs Plentiful New Gear ROSE PARK --- Recently, a $6,500 grant from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation enabled the west side youth swim program, RACE SWAMI, to purchase swim gear for many of it's young members, most of whom receive financial assistance in order to compete for the USA Swiming club. GLENDALE NEIGHBORHOOD, UT — Yesterday RACE SWAMI kicked off it's first ever Summer Swim Program in conjunction with the Guadalupe School in Rose Park. Nearly 60 students from the Guadalupe School signed up to swim with USA Swimming certified SWAMI coaches for three days a week, for a half hour session each.
