Team Support Agreement

2023-2024

Objective:  The Team Support Agreement will provide clear expectations to Coast Guard Blue Dolphins families participating in our swim programs of the necessary requirements to operate this high-quality non-profit swim team.

While this support agreement outlines financial penalties of not adhering to these requirements, the goal of the Support Agreement is to distribute the needed support across all families and not to collect additional team revenues.

Team Support is required in three categories:  Fundraising, Service Commitments, and CGBD Other Event Support/Committees.

  • Requirements are per family.  Families with multiple swimmers are obligated to the commitments of the swimmer in the highest group.  Each family must complete their required Service Commitments whether your swimmer participates in meets or not, donate/participate in the Swim-a-Thon and Raffle and participate on a committee.
  • Families that are registered on October 1st will be responsible for fulfilling Short Course Service Commitments. Families that are registered on May 1st will be responsible for fulfilling Long Course Service Commitments. Failure to work the required number of Service Commitment shifts will result in a fee of $300 per missed commitment. Fees will be assessed and billed at the end of short and long course seasons for Service Commitments.
  • Each family will be asked to sign up for one committee to help with needs throughout the season. Signup for these committees will be available in September. Swim-a-Thon, Other Events, and Sponsorships are some examples of these committees. The numbers for each event/committee will be defined based on need and will be filled via first come, first serve sign up after the CGBD Start-Up picnic.  Failure to sign up and participate in committee obligations may result in a $300 fee.
  • Families that register after the Swim-Athon/Raffle are completed in December will be responsible for a prorated fundraising amount based on the raffle family obligation for the highest swimmer’s group.  This can be paid in a lump sum, installments, or by obtaining an appropriate Sponsorship.
  • Additional Fundraisers may be required during the season.
  • When a swimmer moves to a higher practice group, the average difference between the current group and the higher group’s fundraising /service commitments will be taken and must be met.  Flex members in Dolphin Bridge and Seahawk Bridge that switch to Full memberships will owe 3 short course and 2 long course Service Commitments.
  • Super Volunteers are volunteers that work additional roles within the team.  These include Apparel Lead, Swim-Athon Lead, Raffle Lead, Hospitality Lead, Storage Manager, Officials Lead, Officials, Service Commitment Lead, Meet Director, Day of Meet Director, Meet Safety Officer, Social Media Lead, Yearbook/Annual Awards Video Lead.  Officials will receive the third swimmer discount.  Other Super Volunteer positions should reach out to Meredith Stevens @ cgbd[email protected] to discuss specific benefits.
  • Service commitments can be worked at either CGBD hosted meets, or non-hosted meets (meets we do not hosts/away meets).
    • CGBD will host 7-10 short course meets with many service commitment opportunities.
    • CGBD will host 2-3 long course meets.
    • For hosted meets, positions will be filled by first come, first serve through the online sign up approximately one week prior to the meet start date. An announcement email will be sent through the official team email notification process used for all other correspondence and the team website will provide event reminders.
    • Some of the positions required during our hosted meets are: Announcer, Marshals, Head Timer, Timer, Runner, and Concessions. Click here to see more detailed job descriptions.
    • Worked service commitments will be updated following meets periodically and will be made available to families via the CGBD website.
    • In the event a meet or session is cancelled, the family signed up through the website will still receive credit for the commitment they would have earned during the session.  Adjustments made be made to requirements if meets are cancelled.
