A handful of Marlins swam at the May Flowers Long Course meet in Federal Way! Bindi Pedersen re-wrote the PNS record books at the NWAC Triple Pentathlon in Oak Harbor. Bindi set new records in the 50 breaststroke, 100 fly, 100 breaststroke, 100 free, and 200 IM. Some records were over 40 years old! Bindi also won each individual pentathlon and the overall Triple Pentathlon! In the overall Triple Pentathlon Mel Lofton was 3rd and Maggie Delaney was 5th, and they also took medals for 3rd and 5th in each individual pentathlon. Cameron Chaplik, Christina Domanowski, Jennifer Domanowski, Morgan Ginnis, Jeffrey Lozensky, and Hannah Taylor all won events at the Long Course Kickoff Meet in Federal Way! Other Medal winners included Melody Coleman, and Hannah Peseau. Swimmers scoring points for top 8 finishes were: Justin Murrell, Lindsay Vanderhoff, and Andrew Winquist. Six Marlins were overall Sextathlon winners at our beloved Painterman Invite! Leah Taylor, Bindi Pedersen, Abby Magee, Christina Domanowski, Jeffrey Lozensky, and Hannah Taylor all took top honors. A host of Marlins won medals for 2nd through 6th place overall including: Toria Benson, Madelynn Butler, Maggie Delaney, Kevin English, Morgan Ginnis, Spencer Girard, Lyric Ingram, Elle Lee, Nathaniel Ludwig, John Snider, Alisa Stang, Lindsay Vanderhoff, Kara Libra, Rebekah Pusateri, and Colin Willis Great job running the meet crew!!
The dessert auction stole the show at the Marlins Short Course Season Banquet! The fabulous desserts helped raise over $300 for the Marlins. Award winners for Most Outstanding included: Bindi Pedersenm Christina Domanowski, Jeffrey Lozensky, Melody Coleman, Sarp Orgul, Jennifer Domanowski, and Andrew Winquist. Hannah Taylor swam a very fast 5:01 in the 400 IM at the Michigan Grand Prix on the campus of the University of Michigan. It was good enough for her to make top 16 in a field that included many Olympians and world record holders. She also just missed finals in the 100 breaststroke. Morgan Ginnis swam 6 events and gained valuable experience in this star studed field. Abby Magee had 5 best times in the Pentathlon part of Divisional Champs to earn the 11 year old overall title beating 145 other girls. Bindi Pedersen dominated the 10 year old age group for the title as well. The Mighty Marlins were 13th in a 140 team field but that barely tells the story of this meet. Bindi Pedersen and Christina Domanowski dominated their age divisions. Bindi won 5 events and took 2nd in 1 event. All swims were new Mighty Marlin team records and the 100 Breaststroke, in an amazing clocking of 1:14.63, was an Age Group Sectional Meet Record.
