In a field of over 70 of the finest open water swimmers in the USA our own Jewel LeValley took 25th in the 5 Kilometer Swim.  She finished in a little more than an hour and 4 minutes overcoming the fact that her cap and goggles were kicked off in a crowded start.  She stopped, put them back on, and worked her way through the pack to her outstanding finish! Way to go Jewel!!

  The Mighty Marlins' Board is pleased to announce that Julie Delaney has accepted the position of Assistant Coach, team coaching with Meredith Jenks.  Julie’s experience as an elementary teacher along with her love of Marlins’ team philosophy, her lifelong love of swimming and several years of coaching swimming and diving will make her a very affective and fun loving coach.  Please welcome Julie as she transitions into her new role.  She will begin team coaching with Meredith in June. Kaili Swan was the Champion in the 50 yard butterfly at the Special Olympics State Championships in Federal Way! Kaili also swam to a strong 2nd in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle as well! WAY TO GO KAILI!!

The Marlins achieved their most important 2 goals at the Apple Capital Swim Meet in Wenatchee last weekend!  They had a great time and they got plenty of sun!!  Additionally Emerson Jesus made her first ever PNS qualifying time. Way to go Marlins! What a great group of fun loving, hard racing, nice people!

Christina Domanowski was the high point 1st place overall for her age group at the Pac-Coast Invite in Federal Way!  Morgan Ginnis was 2nd overall, and Spencer Girard was 3rd! Many swimmers saw huge improvements making PNS Champs qualifying times in 1 or more events!.  Maggie Delane hit the mark in the 200 free.  Melody Coleman qualifyed in the 200 & 400 IM and 800 free, Colin Willis made the 50 and 100 free and 100 fly, and Jeffrey Lozensky made it in the 200 IM and 100 fly!  Marlins...

A handful of Marlins swam at the May Flowers Long Course meet in Federal Way!  The highlight of the meet was Bindi Pedersen's breaking of the 10 & under 200 IM PNS record previously held by our own Christina Domanowski. Bindi broke the old record by over 2 seconds! Bindi Pedersen re-wrote the PNS record books at the NWAC Triple Pentathlon in Oak Harbor.  Bindi set new records in the 50 breaststroke, 100 fly, 100 breaststroke, 100 free, and 200 IM.  Some records were over 40 years old!  Bindi also won each individual pentathlon and the overall Triple Pentathlon!  In the overall Triple Pentathlon Mel Lofton was 3rd and Maggie Delaney was 5th, and they also took medals for 3rd and 5th in each individual pentathlon. Other Individual Pentathlon Winners included Madelynn Butler for the 8 & unders, Christina Domanowski...

Cameron Chaplik, Christina Domanowski, Jennifer Domanowski, Morgan Ginnis, Jeffrey Lozensky, and Hannah Taylor all won events at the Long Course Kickoff Meet in Federal Way!  Other Medal winners included Melody Coleman, and Hannah Peseau.  Swimmers scoring points for top 8 finishes were: Justin Murrell, Lindsay Vanderhoff, and Andrew Winquist.  Swimmers with big time drops in this first long course meet of the season included: Kara Libra, Sarp Orgul, and Jonathan and Rebekah Pusateri!!
