Warm Up Lane Information:

  • Warm ups will be split for all sessions. 
  • Sprint Lanes will be open for the last 10 minutes of each warm up. 
  • Lanes 4,6,8 will be designated for dive starts and lane 2 for backstroke starts with a ledge. 
  • Meet Management may open more lanes, should the need arise. 

Additional Information:

  • The Chestnut Hill Recreation & Development Centre (CHRDC) opens at 7:00 AM daily.
  • Swimmers may enter the pool area 15 minutes before warm-up. Swimmers who need to change into suits must use the private stalls in the universal changeroom.
  • Only swimmers may enter the pool area through the changerooms. Coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators should enter the deck via the spectator doors (through the hallway past the changerooms).
  • Spectators may watch from the on-deck bleachers (please respect restricted areas marked by cones) or from the upstairs viewing window. The rest of the pool deck is restricted to swimmers, coaches, and officials.
  • No photographs or videos may be taken in the changerooms or behind the starting blocks. Please avoid flash photography and noise during race starts, and be respectful when taking photos.

Volunteer Grid

Our Volunteer Grid has two tabs. Please check all sessions carefully, as you may be assigned to multiple sessions.

Officials Grid – lists all on-deck officiating roles by session (e.g., Timekeeper, Inspector of Turns, Judge of Stroke, Starter, Referee)

  • Arrival time is highlighted in blue at the top of your section.

  • Roles marked with an * (Referee, Starter, Inspector of Turns, Judge of Stroke, Timekeeper) must attend the General Briefing in Room 3. Please sign in on the sheet in Room 3 or on the pool deck.

  • All other on-deck officials sign in on deck and proceed to your assigned position.

Off-Deck Grid – lists volunteer roles that support the meet outside the pool deck (e.g., snack deck, set up, take down)

  • Volunteers should arrive at the time listed on the grid.

  • Set-Up / Take-Down Crew:

    • Those assigned to the pool deck should proceed there directly.

    • Those assigned to the snack deck should sign in in Room 4 and then proceed to their tasks.

  • Snack Deck/ Lunch: Off-deck volunteers assigned during the meet should sign in in Room 4 and then proceed to their assigned tasks.

The Grid is actively maintained and updated as needed. If your position changes significantly, we’ll contact you to confirm.

What to Wear

  • Timekeepers & Chief Timers: White shirt, black bottoms, black (indoor) closed-toe shoes

  • Safety Marshals: White or red shirt, black bottoms, black (indoor) closed-toe shoes. A safety vest will be provided on arrival

  • All Other Officials: Red polo shirt, black bottoms, black (indoor) closed-toe shoes

  • Off-Deck Volunteers: No special uniform required.

  • Set-Up / Take-Down Volunteers: Clean, closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing appropriate for a hot pool deck. 

Attendance & Questions

  • Volunteers are expected to attend their scheduled shifts. If there is an extenuating circumstance (e.g., illness), please email the Officials Director ([email protected]) prior to the start of your session.
