Important Information for Junior Officials Certified as Stroke & Turn Judges

Certification as a Junior Official is valid until age 18. Junior Officials may officiate in competition below LSC Championships for 12 & Under athletes. Certification converts to certified Stroke and Turn Official once all adult membership requirements have been met. The role converts to adult Official the day the athlete turns 18 and membership is invalid until background check and Athlete Protection Training (APT) is completed.  The APT can be done prior to the birthday but the background check cannot. There will always be a period of time that 18-year old officials are not eligible to officiate.
