Recertification

As of February 1, 2024*, all officials are required to be recertified every three (3) years.

Full details regarding Recertification are provided in the USA Swimming Certification Standards and the associated FAQ's.  Officials need only to recertify at their highest level of certification.

Note: RECERTIFICATION IS NOT AUTOMATIC

*Officials who were certified prior to 2/1/24 will need to recertify according to previous 2-year standards. Going forward, recertification will be every three (3) years.

Certification Expirations and Recertification Timelines

To remain continuously certified, officials must meet the Recertification requirements priort to their certification expiration date.

The certification date for officials shall be:

• The December 31st two years after the year of certification if the certification occurred between January 1st and June 30th of the year of certification.
• December 31st three years after the year of certification occurred between July 1st and December 31st of the year of certification.
