  GTSA Sarasota               This past weekend, the members of the GTSA swim team competed in the Area 3-5 Championships, which was hosted by Sarasota YMCA. GTSA swimmers had a strong showing with many swimmers posting best times.   Chris O’Linger, current GTSA club member, finished a big week at the 2009 Division II NCAA Championships in Houston , TX with a second place finish in the 1,650 freestyle (15:09.90).  He amassed 59 individual points over the week with a pair of second place finishes as well as a fifth and an eighth.  Chris’ other second place finish came in the 1,000 freestyle (9:04.12), while his fifth and eighth place finishes came in the 500 freestyle (4:24.15) and the 400 IM (3:56.24) respectively.   GTSA finished off a big weekend at short course Junior Olympics (JOs) on Sunday. The team of 10 qualifiers got stronger as the meet went on. Sunday was capped with 5 swims in the Finals: two swims for Emily Clifford (200 IM 13th, 100 BR 7th) and one for Emma Donahue (100 BR 13th), Tyler Heath (100 FR 12th), and Alexandria Donahue (50 BR 16th), respectively.
