                Greater Tampa Swimming Association finished first eight different times this past weekend at SPA’s Friday/Saturday at the Races.  Four different swimmers helped accumulate the eight wins including Christopher Dieffenthaller (2), Matthew Dieffenthaller (1), Alexandria Donahue (2), and Reagan Flynn (3).  They were not the only GTSA swimmer’s finishing near the top with Victor Cogdill, Ana Sanchez, and Sarah Whitfield recording top 3 finishes.  The team earned 70% best times over the two days of competition.  That included 100% personal bests from Victor Cogdill, Alexander Dienes, Reagan Flynn, Lindsey Meyer,...

                  GTSA made its long course debut this past weekend at the WFLA “Spring Invite”.  The team accumulated 215 points on the weekend earning a 5th place finish. Those points came from many different swimmers with 5 swimmers finishing in the top 3 in individual events including Christopher Dieffenthaller, Matthew Dieffenthaller, Ally Donahue, Reagan Flynn, Tyler Heath, Ana Sanchez and Margaret Shumake.  79% of the time GTSA hit the water it was a best time including 100% personal bests from Ana Delong, Elsa Delong, Christopher Dieffenthaller, Veronica...

                Alexandria Donahue represented GTSA at the NCSA Junior Nationals in Orlando, FL this past weekend.  She became the first swimmer from GTSA to attend this event.  Alexandria swam the 50, 100, and 200 breaststroke events.  It was a great accomplishment and a great learning experience for her getting to be a part of one of the fastest meets in the country.  Alexandria represented GTSA very well.  Congrats and we are very proud!

               Greater Tampa Swimming Assoc. made the first Florida Age Group States one that will not soon be forgotten.  Amassing 168 points on the weekend GTSA managed a top 25 finish.  It was a complete team effort with 7 swimmers scoring points including top 8 finishes from Matthew Dieffenthaller, Alexandria Donahue, and Tyler Heath.  The 10&under boys relay, consisting of Victor Cogdill, Christopher Dieffenthaller, Matthew Dieffenthaller, and T.J.                 Although the weather wasn’t as warm as one might expect for south Florida, GTSA braved the cold and compiled a solid weekend.  GTSA finished 6th in the Gulf Coast Swim Team Winter Open amassing 167 points on the weekend.  Individually Reagan Flynn contributed 51 points while winning 3 events and the 8&under girls high point award.  Even with the less than optimal weather the team achieved 54% best times on the weekend including 100% best times from Sydney Whitfield.  The swimming was great, but the most fun was had...
