  GTSA was recently awarded the prize for top team in the 2010 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes.  With Emma Donahue’s help GTSA raised $2,550 to help Juvenile Diabetes.  Emma wrote something that she wanted me to pass along to the team.                 Thank you GTSA for your participation in the walk for a cure.  We raised a grand total of $2,550 and won first place in the team category.  This walk alone raised over $382,000 for juvenile diabetes research and I thank you all for the tremendous...

              Emma Donahue qualified for the 14 and Under Florida Swimming versus Florida Gold Coast All Star Dual Meet held at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, FL. Emma was selected to represent FL Swimming based on her performance at the Spring Junior Olympics. She helped FL Swimming win the dual meet by placing 4th in 100 yd. breaststroke, 6th in the 200 yd breaststroke, and 8th in the 400 I.M. Thursday night Tyler Heath opened up Junior Olympic with a 15th place finish in the 1,000 Freestyle dropping an astounding 37 seconds.  The best times continued the remainder of the weekend including 100% best times from Alexandria Donahue, Tyler Heath and Noel Lee.  Friday Emma finished 9th in the 200 Breaststroke in a time of 2:29.56.  The great swimming continued Saturday when Morgan Tankersley dropped 1.54 seconds in the 50 freestyle to finish 15th in a time of 30.19.  The final night of the meet saw GTSA’s best finish of...

                  Greater Tampa Swimming Association started 2010 with a road trip to Orlando for the 2010 Swim Orlando YMCA Winter Open.  It seems as if everyone’s New Year’s resolution must have been to start off the year with new best times the way the team was swimming.  70 times GTSA swimmers finished with new personal bests, including 100% best times from Sidney Whitfield, Morgan Tankersley, Madyson Melendez, Reagan Flynn, and Gabriela Donahue.  It was also a team effort when it came to scoring points with 14 different team members pitching...
