GTSA accumulated 8 individual victories at the Area 3 Championships held in St. Petersburg, FL over the weekend. Those included Gabby Donahue (50Fr, 100Fr), Maggie Mullen (25Fr), Grace Sanchez (200IM, 100Bk, 100Fl, 100IM), and Morgan Tankersley (50Fr). GTSA sent 7 swimmers to the 2011 Long Course Senior Championships, the most to represent the team in multiple years. Those swimmers combined to accumulate 45 points over the 4 day meet, held in Ft. After 4 full days of competition GTSA accumulated 156 points to earn a 22nd place finish. Tyler Heath did his part on the final day earning him 2 finals swims. GTSA had 4 different swimmers score points on 6 different occasions on Saturday at FLAG’s. Tyler Heath and Grace Sanchez led the way finishing in the top 16 in two events. Day 2 of FLAG’s picked up right where day one left off for GTSA, which meant best times. After the first day of the 2011 Florida Age Group Championships GTSA finds themselves in 21st place with 27 total points. Ally Donahue started the scoring with an 8th place finish in the 200 Breaststroke (2:54.67). In the prelims Ally set a new best time of 2:49.33.
