Coach Kevin and crew returned triumphantly from California last week.  How impressive was the Senior Zones Meet?  Take a look right here! Congratulations to Tommy Madill, who had a great week with the IES Age Group Zones Team down in Grand Junction, Colorado.  He finished 10th in the 50 breast, and 11th in the 100 breast; great job! We will be starting a new swim season on September 10th, 2012, at both the EWU and Whitworth pools.  On that night we will have evalutations to see which practice groups will work best for each new swimmer trying out as well as a few veteran parents who can help walk new parents through the registration process.    What to bring: Swim suit, towel, goggles   Where and when: In Cheney at the EWU pool from 4:00-5:00 PM Whitworth pool 5:30-6:30PM

20 Swimmers, 3 chaperons, 1 coach, and a whole lot of attitude went down to Clovis, CA for our teams first time participating at the western Senior Zones competition.  Plain and simply, it was a blast.  We swam fast, performed well, had a ton of fun, and represented our team well.  4 IES Records broken, 30 Waves team records, a 17th place team finish, and a lot of great memorites.  Of the IES teams that went down, we placed the highest at 17th (Tri-Cities 27th).  One of the huge highlights...

  WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!   For the first time in our 28 year history, the Waves finished first at the Inland Empire Long Course Championship Meet held July 27-29 at Witter Pool.    The Waves overwhelmed the competition with 115 athletes, scoring an incredible 33.63 points per swimmer, and won the championship with 3867 points—an impressive 1500 point margin of victory.  71 athletes scored individual points for our team, and another 17 scored points in relays.   Our 15 & over swimmers, almost all of whom were preparing for...
