Volunteer Points Requirements

Stonegate Seahawks is a 100% volunteer-run organization and we value the spirit of volunteerism and the contributions of our swim team families. Volunteering not only helps support the smooth operation of our team but also fosters a sense of community among our members.

Families who sign up for a job but do not show up will be charged a missed job fee. Families who do not sign up for jobs or who otherwise fail to complete the required number of points by the end of the season will also be automatically charged a financial penalty on a per point basis. Please refer to our Volunteer Policy for more information.

To ensure the success of our team and events, we have established the following volunteering requirements*:

  • Families with 1 Swimmer: 15 Volunteer Points 
  • Families with 2 or More Swimmers: 20 Volunteer Points 

* Families with a swimmer participating in Pentathlon and/or Champs will also be expected to volunteer at the respective meet(s) if we are short of volunteers. 

 

How to Earn Volunteer Points

  • Sign up for a Volunteer Job through our website and show up on time!
  • If you are late and we have found someone to replace you, you will not get credit for the job.
  • Jobs are worth 1 to 3 points, depending on the task and time commitment. 
  • 1 point translates to approximately 1 hour.
  • Families will be notified once our volunteer sign-ups are open.
  • Refer to Volunteer Job Descriptions for descriptions of various jobs. 
  • In lieu of meeting the volunteer points requirements, we also offer Coordinator positions. If you are interested, please email us at [email protected]

 

Tracking Volunteer Points

  • Volunteer points will be tracked and recorded by our Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Families can check their current volunteer point status through their accounts on the SportsEngine portal or by contacting the Volunteer Coordinator directly.

 

Note: We plan to host a Parent Information Zoom Meeting (time/date TBD), during which we will discuss the volunteer requirements in detail and explain how to sign up for jobs.
