Volunteering at our In-House Meets is essential to ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently. Without the service of our Booster membership, these meets could not be successful. Please see descriptions of potential shifts and responsbilities below. Note that the duration of shifts will vary depending on the size of the meet/session; however, each shift is expected to last ~3 - 4 hours. 

 

Setup (Decorations)

This shift will work the evening before the first meet day. This person is responsible for decorating for the meet. The shift is complete when all decoration setup is finished.

 

Setup (Heavy Duty)

This shift will work the evening before the first meet day. This person is responsible for setting up the competition floor/events.  This requires manual labor and lifting of over 75 lbs may be necessary.  Gloves are recommended.  The shift is complete when the gym setup is finished.

 

Shout Outs

This person is responsible for selling shout outs (gifts/messages available for purchase during the meet).  You will handle cash/credit cards and assist with purchases being delivered to the gym floor to be read and dispersed to athletes. Advanced training on credit card app is required.

 

Warm Up/Event Timers

This person is responsible for timing event warmup and beam routine timing (if applicable).  Your event will be assigned once you arrive. 

 

Awards

This person will be responsible for lining up athletes for awards and handing out medals/trophies. This person must ensure that the awards ceremony stays on time and runs smoothly.

 

Tear Down (Heavy Duty)

This shift is responsible for tearing down the competition floor.  This requires manual labor and lifting of over 75 lbs may be necessary.  Gloves are recommended.   The shift is complete when the gym is returned to normal practice setup.

 

Announcer/Music/Awards

The announcer will make announcements at the beginning of the session, read shout outs, play music (including for floor routines), and announce awards at the conclusion of the session. These shifts will be picked from those who are part of the announcer committee.
