At Junior Nationals in Irvine, The BGSC 15-18 Boys 400 free relay of Matt Hrabchak, Greg DeMatteo, Harrison Haines and Jack Blyzinskyj broke the RES record with a time of 3:32.22. This swim broke the record of 3:32.35 set by the ABF relay of Colby Dunn, Pat Myers, Luca Spinazzola and Jeffrey Thomas set in 2009. Congratulations Gators!!

Congratulations to Jack Folcarelli from Weymouth Waves (WW) Jack was selected as this year's New England Age Group Coach of the Year by his colleagues and fellow coaches. We all have been impressed by the growth an achievement of his athletes over the past couple years, and New England looks forward to the continued growth of his swimmers and his program! The award will be presented to Jack at the ASCA awards banquet during the ASCA World Clinic this September in New Orleans.

The heat index outside the pool didn't equal the fire under the feet of several swimmers inside the pool at the NE LCM Senior Meet, hosted by Seascoast Swimming Association-Seekonk, at Brown University this past weekend. Records are falling at the 2013 Arena NE Senior Meet! In the 13-14 100 fly,Max Miranda (ABF) swam a 59.45 breaking, James Allen's (GMSC) NE record of 59.67 set in 2011 and Connar Patterson's (EST) RES record of 59.54 set in 2012! Max also set a new 13-14 NE record in the 400IM with a time of 4:47.09 breaking Kevin Bradley's (MAG) old mark of 4:47.53 set in 2009. At Nationals/World Trials: Laura Sogar (ABF) set a new RES record in the Girl's Open 200 breaststroke. Laura's time of 2:24.86 broke her old record of 2:25.15 set last year. Congratulations Laura! At MIT this weekend, Aaron Zhu (NWSC) broke Conor Swanson's (ABF) 9-10 200IM NE and RES records. Aaron's time of 2:38.46 surpassed the NE record of 2:40.29 and the RES record of 2:39.34 both set in 2002. Aaron also broke his own NE and RES 100 breaststroke records with a new time of 1:23.07. The old records of 1:23.59 were only set two weeks ago. Congratulations Aaron!
