EXPECTATIONS FOR GROUPS AND PARENTS
Expectations for Parents:
Please refrain from talking to swimmers and coaches during practice as much as possible
- The swimmers need to focus on practice and listening to the coaches
- Coaches need to focus on the swimmers
If you need to speak with the coach the best time is before or after practice, or email us to set up a time!
Help your swimmer be on time to practice, and if late encourage them to hurry to join the team
Encourage positivity and teamwork
Demonstrate respect by treating others and the facility with respect
Encourage your swimmer to be prepared for practice
Please supervise any non-swimmer children you bring to the pool and ensure they are not climbing on things or throwing balls against buildings

- Bring all needed equipment INCLUDING WATER
- Bring tennis shoes to dryland

Technical expectations:
ALL GROUPS
- Streamline off every wall
- Circle swim
- Finish to the wall
- Understand and be able to do a set on an interval
Otters Expectations:
- Know the basics of freestyle and backstroke
- Know the basics of a dive
- Be able to learn basic swimming vocabulary
- Attend 2 required team meets each year+any other meets you want
- Attendance recommendation: come to at least 2 practices a week
Seals Expectations:
- Know the basics of all four strokes
- Know the basics of a dive
- Know the basics of a flip turn
- Be able to learn basic swimming vocabulary
- Know the basics of intervals
- Attend 2 required team meets each year+any other meets you want
- Attendance recommendation: come to at least 2 practices a week
Polar Bears Expectations:
- Can do all strokes legally
- Can do effective/legal starts and turns
- Can do a relay start
- Does a crossover back to breast turn
- Know how to put on your own cap
- Know the basics of intervals
- Attend 2 required team meets each year+all other meets qualified for
- Attendance recommendation: come to at least 3 practices a week
Bronze Group Expectations:
- Know the basics of freestyle and backstroke
- Know the basics of a dive
- Be able to learn basic swimming vocabulary
- Able to understand basics of intervals
- Know how to put on your own cap
- Attend 2 required team meets each year+any other meets you want
- Attendance recommendation: come to at least 2 practices a week
Silver Group Expectations:
- Can do all strokes legally
- Can do effective/legal starts and turns
- Can do a relay start
- Does a crossover back to breast turn
- Know how to put on your own cap
- Understand intervals
- Attend 2 required team meets each year+all other meets qualified for
- Attendance recommendation: come to at least 4 practices a week
Gold Group Expectations:
- Can do all strokes legally
- Can do effective/legal starts and turns
- Can do a relay start
- Does a crossover back to breast turn
- Know how to put on your own cap
- Understands intervals
- Focused on qualifying for Age Group Championship meets
- Attend 2 required team meets each year+all other meets qualified for
- Attendance recommendation: come to at least 5 practices a week
