Family Work Commitment:

Families are expected to fulfill their required hourly service commitment to the club throughout the season. Events such as home swim meets, swimathons, etc. are important club events which help financially provide for the operations of our non-profit club and these events cannot be run without the help of our club families. Each family is required to complete a specified required number of service hours during the season and families with only a High School/Club swimmer are required to complete half the required family hours. Opportunities to complete the required hours are sent out in advance by the Club via email and social media. The primary opportunity to complete the required hours is during the Wave Swim Club’s Home Swim Meet. Hours can be completed by friends/family members of the swimmer or even the swimmer based on task age/training requirements. Please arrange childcare for underage children during family work commitment as Wave Swim Club does not provide childcare or supervision.

If the swimmer's family hours are not worked by the end of the season, families will be charged a fee for each hour unfulfilled at a rate of $25/hour. In the event a swimmer quits swimming for the Club, the volunteer fee will still be charged to the account unless family members complete the required hours before the end of the season.

If the Board of Directors review determines that the swimmer’s circumstances does not meet the policy criteria for an exception to the cancellation policy, the family will continue to be responsible for monthly membership dues along with required family work hours commitment if they choose to exit the program.
