It was a great weekend of swimming for our Barracudas at this season’s BB Thankful meet held at Raritan Valley Community College. Our 25 attending swimmers joined athletes from five other teams earning top places, a ton of personal bests, new team records, and more! Of our 93 splashes, about 70% were either Personal Bests or first-ever swims; very impressive for this point in the season! Some standouts were Carter Bambara’s 100 Back (-8.98); Ty Hollar’s 200 IM (-14.01) and 1000 Free (-4:44.39); Ryan Juckett’s 100 Fly (-8.93) and 200...
Swimmers from our Senior group showed off their artistic skills and Halloween spirit during practice. Interspersed among some sprint sets, our talented bunch broke off into teams to create their spooky masterpieces. Well done!
We started off our competition season by traveling out of our LSC for the 2022 Condors Fall Festival in West Nyack, NY over the weekend. There were a few hundred swimmers from the dozen teams competing, and we are very proud of our swimmers’ results! Of our 62 splashes, about 80% were either first-ever swims (16) or Personal Best Times (33)! Of those Personal Bests, some were quite notable like Julia Dutzi’s 50 Fly (-21.60); Ty Hollar’s 200 Back (-22.82) and 200 Breast (-15.48); Alex Johnson’s 100 Breast (-10.13); Connor...

Nathaniel and Hannah...
Congratulations to our qualifiers for this summer’s NJ Swimming Junior Olympics, held at Rutgers University from 7/29-7/31. They had a great meet, earning Personal Best LC times, Top Places, and more. For their efforts, NJB came in 19th of the 40+ teams, despite having only 5 swimmers in attendance! Matt Freund had an impressive showing at USA Swimming’s Futures Championships in Geneva, Ohio. The meet took place at the famous SPIRE Institute from 7/27-7/30. Impressive enough just to qualify for this meet, Matt went all-in earning impressive finishes and some Presonal Bests along the way. He started off the meet with the grueling 200 Fly. Making it back to finals, he fought his way to a 12th Place finish (from being seeded 21st) and a drop of -1.41 seconds! He also had great swims in his 100 Free (-0.14),...
With the LC championship season in full swing, a few of our swimmers took to the pool at Rutgers University at this season’s NJ Swimming Silver/Bronze Championships. Our 5 attending swimmers hit the water 17 times to earn 14 Personal Bests, six Top-6 finishes, a few JO cuts, and more. Congrats to our First Place earners Rylee Bambara (200 IM) and Ty Hollar (100 Free)! Well done ‘Cudas!
As our swimmers begin to settle into our long course competitions, its great to see their confidence rise as their times drop. These past weekend’s Summer Champs at Berkeley Aquatics saw just that. Teams from across NJ, NY, and CT were in attendance and made for some fast swimming, challenging our swimmers to call upon their training to yield success. At the end of the 5-day competition, almost half of the 60 splashes were Personal Best Times, another 12 were first-ever LC swims, and an incredible 49 were top-8 finishes!...
Summer Sizzle In what has become the premier prelims/finals meet of long course season, Eastern Express’s Jeffery S Mace Summer Sizzle XXX last weekend didn’t disappoint. Hundreds of the top swimmers from NJ, NY, CT, New England, DE, and PA descended upon Rutgers for three days of fast swimming. With only six qualifying swimmers in attendance, we placed 17th out of the 36 teams in attendance. The fact that it was such a big regional stage only makes our First Places that more impressive. Congrats to Nathaniel Kern (100 Fly,...
