VACA Swimmers recognized as Sierra Nevada Scholar Athletes

The Sierra Nevada LSC recently honored a group of athletes from our LSC for outstanding achievements in both the classroom and the pool. Vacaville "shines" at home meet!

Over the weekend of February 3rd – 5th, the Vacaville Swim Team hosted a BB +/- meet at home for the Sierra Nevada LSC. There were over 15 teams present and 400+ swimmers competing. Sierra Nevada Swimming held its annual awards banquet Saturday, January 7th at Arden Hills Country Club. Over the course of the evening a number of awards and presentations were made to many swimmers and officials. Kyle Castro competes at USA Swimming Junior National Championships

USA Swimming hosted the Junior National Championships December 8th - 10th, 2011 at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. This meet is comprised of the top 18 year old and under swimmers in the nation. At the meet this past year over 800 swimmers competed at the meet. Kyle Castro, who trains with the National group, qualified to swim in three events for this meet. Kyle competed in the 200 freestyle, 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly.
