Washington Open More than 550 athletes made the drive to Federal Way for the first big non-champs meet in Puget Sound since the start of the pandemic! Most of the fastest swimmers in the state were there, and were joined by swimmers from other states, including Oregon, Colorado, and Idaho. This was a tough mid-season meet that our Senior swimmers swam through rather than resting, which is always a tough challenge not only physically but mentally as well. Congratulations to all the Wave athletes who qualified and participated! Senior Epic...

PNS Champs (13-14) Our 13-14s had their shot last weekend at their first big champs meet for most of them in two years! As was the case with the 12&Unders, the dive tank was not available for warmup/warm down, but parents could cheer their swimmers on and, of course, there were relays! Jaiden Sreenivasan led the team with a phenomenal performance, setting five team records!!! He crushed 4 of his own records and set 1 new record. In addition, he won two golds and broke the SwimStrong Dryland record in...
PNS Champs (12&Under) What an exciting meet! Our first big finals meet in two years and our first meet with parents able to be spectators since February 2020. There were almost 30 teams at the meet and Wave finished 7th! For many of the swimmers, it was their first big champs meet at KCAC in Federal Way, and the first three-day meet for most of the 11-12 swimmers, who had Prelims and Finals all three days. The most exciting part, however, was the return of relays! All but one of...

Wave finished the fall regular season with our own invitational last weekend. Nearly the entire team (318 Wave swimmers) swam in more than 2000 races (including finals) over three days, with many swimmers picking up new PNS Champs cuts or US Swimming motivational times, not to mention a trio of new team records as well as a Futures cut by Freddy Larson. Many thanks go out to our meet director, Alan Cardwell, and the head of our boosters organization, Steven Blackmon, without whom this meet would not have been so...
NOTE: We mistakenly left out of last week's report our swimmers from the High School workout group, which had two girls compete for their high school teams at postseason competitions. Both girls who swam proved to be valuable members of their teams going lifetime bests in races and helping out on relays. KingCo Sarah Yi competed in two individual events achieving a best time in the 100 free and swimming just off her best time in the 50 free. She also helped her 400 freestyle relay to a 12th place...
