Good news, we have added a meet to the schedule the weekend of July 23-24. The meet is the Summer Grand Challenge at the Titlow Pool in Tacoma. This is an outdoor pool with a great view of the Tacoma Narrows, and a short walk through the park to the waterfront. This meet is for those not attending the PNS Championship Meet (July 28-31), and is a no time standard long course swim meet. The main motivation here by the coaches is to give all of our swimmers...
Due to an event at the Juanita Aquatic Center this coming weekend (June 11-12) we will not have practices at Juanita on Saturday. Sunday practices will start later than normal. Our schedule for the June 11-12 weekend will look like this: Saturday Gold, Senior, HP 6:00-8:00am at Redmond Silver I & II 8:00-9:15am at Redmond 8 & Under and Bronze 9:15-10:00am at Redmond Sunday Silver I 5:30-7:30pm at Juanita HP 5:30-7:00pm at Juanita
Colman Pool A few notes regarding Colman: Bring your equipment (fins, water bottles, etc.) Dress warm. It is usually 10 degrees cooler down on the water, and it can be windy on the point where the pool sits Be sure to check the weather report ahead of time Remember that it takes about 10 minutes or so to walk to the pool from the parking lot The pool is half salt water and half fresh water with some chlorine mixed in. Saturday Practice This Saturday, May 28th the Gold Group will swim at Redmond with the Senior Group from 7:30-10:00am. We don’t normally run the GAPP program when we do this, but we will this Saturday. All other groups will swim as normal at Juanita. Due to a special event happening at the Juanita Aquatic Center, practice this Saturday, May 7th will take place at the Redmond Aquatic Center: Gold, Senior, HP (combined practice) will be from 6-8:30am Silver I and II will swim from 8:30-10:00am 8 & Under and Bronze will swim from 9:00-10:00am There will be no GAPP this week as the Gold group will be swimming as part of the senior group.
This Saturday is the Semi-annual Pacific Northwest Swimming House of Delegates meeting at the WKCAC Pool in Federal Way from 11am to 1pm. Wave needs one swimmer (preferably 14 or older) to attend the meeting as a member of Wave Aquatics. This is a good chance to earn some volunteer hours.
