Due to a special event happening at the Juanita Aquatic Center, practice this Saturday, May 7th will take place at the Redmond Aquatic Center: Gold, Senior, HP (combined practice) will be from 6-8:30am Silver I and II will swim from 8:30-10:00am 8 & Under and Bronze will swim from 9:00-10:00am There will be no GAPP this week as the Gold group will be swimming as part of the senior group.
After a close, hard fought morning of racing, the Black Team emerged as the winner over the Purple Team by a score of 471.5 to 386.5. The meet was lots of fun for the kids- if you didn't make it, be sure to attend next year!
This Saturday is the Semi-annual Pacific Northwest Swimming House of Delegates meeting at the WKCAC Pool in Federal Way from 11am to 1pm. Wave needs one swimmer (preferably 14 or older) to attend the meeting as a member of Wave Aquatics. This is a good chance to earn some volunteer hours. This is a tryout for non-members who would like to join the team. We will start at 7:15pm. Tryouts do not take long, and are a chance for the coaches to see if prospective swimmers are ready for swim team, and if so, which group would be the best fit for them. Admittance into groups is as follows: 8 & Under Group: 8 years or younger, can swim 1 length of freestyle and backstroke Bronze Group: 9 or 10 years of age, can swim freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke legally...
Congratulations to Wave swimmer Casey Johnson for her performance at the Paralympic Nationals in Minneapolis, MN. Casey was the National Champion in the S6 100 Back and finished 2nd in the S6 50 Fly Way to go Casey!!!
