10&U State Meet Highlights

It was an exciting weekend for DFAC at the 12&U state championships. Our swimmers represented DFAC well in teamwork and sportsmanship- they make us proud.

 

Thank you, parents, for supporting our team- getting your kids to the meet, cheering on our swimmers, and celebrating our success.

 

We sent 13 swimmers and 5 relay teams. We came home with a state champion, new state cuts, new zone cuts, and personal bests in almost all events.  

 

Here are some swim highlights:

-Dmitriy: State Champion 200IM, 2nd 50BR, 2nd 100BR, 3rd 100FR, 2nd 200FR, 5th 50FR,

going to Zones in 4 events. (Dmitriy, Emery, and I had a belly laugh when the picture turned sideways in the last news bulletin, then we decided to leave it that way.)

-Rowen and Kaleb earned the 200FR state cut with 5 seconds or so to spare. 

-Kaleb had strong performances in FL despite what he claims.

-Rowen showed us some power in BK.

-Emma rocked her 100 and 200BK moving up 8 places in both. She also did very well in the 200 and 400IM -a new specialty of hers.

 

Congratulations to our relay swimmers whose teams all cut times, showed technique improvements, and had clean relay exchanges:
