- Learn and improve starts and turns
- Introduction to practice and meet etiquette

Swimmer Requirements
- Swim 1 length of the pool (25 yards) without stopping
- Comfortable with face in water
- Able to float on back

Typical age range: 8-12 years old |
| Training Focus
- Learn and Improve all 4 strokes to competition-legal standards
- Learn and improve starts and turns to competition-legal standards
- Introduction to aerobic training and set work

Swimmer Requirements
- Swim 2 lengths of the pool (50 yards) without stopping
- Comfortable with face in water and rhythmic breathing
- Comfortable diving from the starting blocks
- Competition legal in at least 3 strokes

- Swim 50 yards of each stroke legally
- Competition-legal dive from the blocks
- Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions
- Maturity to stay focused for longer practices
- At or above 8 & Under State qualifying standards preferred

- Introduction to distance events and Open Water
- Advanced dryland training
- Occasional overlap with other Senior groups

- Entering or currently in high school
- All of Gold’s requirements
- Willing to train for competitive swimming with the goal of self-improvement and/or achieving 11-12 state qualifying times

- Option for Senior program athletes training in another sport that would prevent them from swimming full-time
- Up to 3x practices per week (not days)
- Contact head coach for approval prior to registering for this option
