- We are excited to announce that Mandy Lothe has been voted in as new Vice President of DFAC. Her daughter, Addison, is currently a dolphin with a sibling considering joining the team. We very much look forward to having Mandy part of the board!!

- SAFE SPORT CLUB RECOGNITION
- UNFORTUNATELY, WE WERE UNABLE TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR OUR CLUB TO BE ABLE TO BE SAFE SPORT RECOGNIZED BY THE DEADLINE OF AUGUST 1ST. Our goal, as a team, was to become a ‘Safe Sport recognized’ club by USA Swimming in August. In order to do this, certain requirements must be met. Some of which include learning exercises for our 12 & up swim parents and athletes. Information to complete was previously sent out and is available on the website under ‘Safe Sport’ when logged in. Our team had less than 25% complete. IF YOU PLAN ON YOUR SWIMMER (12 OR OLDER) TO SWIM THIS FALL, YOU MUST COMPLETE YOUR TRAINING AND HAVE IT TO JENNY BY 8/26. - The board has begun the planning of a silent auction for September or October. If you know of companies that could potentially donate, please let us know and feel to reach out on your own. If you would like us to reach out please contact Mandy ([email protected])

- FORWARD MADISON TICKET DONATION
- Forward Madison soccer was gracious enough to donate two tickets and two scarves for their current season which ends mid-October. The game must be booked three weeks out so waiting for silent auction is not an option. Because of this, we have posted them on our Facebook page and people can bid through next Friday, August 12th at noon to attend a game in September or October.

- STATE 13 AND OVER

- FALL SCHEDULE/REGISTRATION
- Fees are expected to be confirmed early next week and registration for returning families up no later than 8/12. If you are registering more than one child, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO REGISTER THEM TOGETHER TO GET THE MULTI FAMILY DISCOUNT.
- For returning swimmers, we will hold off on processing registration if your swimmer is 12 and over and you or they have yet to complete the Safe Sport training.
- Fall session will run Monday, September 12th (New Swimmers first night only) through Wednesday, November 23rd. The board currently plans on being at the pool the 12th to do new parent meeting and we also expect Simply Swimming to be on-site for suit fitting and selling merchandise.
- IRONMAN GRANT OPPORTUNITY
- DFAC has an opportunity to earn a $500 grant for the team by volunteering at this year’s Ironman 70.3 on Saturday, September 10th. (My apologies for the confusion, past communication was Saturday, September 11th). We have done in prior years and the swimmers had a blast. An event has been created listed in TeamUnify. Similar to the 4th of July parade, if you are interested, please go in to the system and ‘rsvp’. PLEASE NOTE HOW MANY IN THE FAMILY WILL BE VOLUNTEERING. Hours is 10am-4pm and a minimum number of 10 volunteers must be met to qualify for the grant. WE CURRNTLY HAVE 7 VOLUNTEERS, WOULD NEED 3 MORE BY 8/10/2022. We will need a swim parent to be the point person if we have enough volunteers. If interested in learning more about being the point person, please reach out to Ashly Miller ([email protected])

GOOD LUCK TO PAYTON, DMITRIY AND ALL OF TEAM WISCONSIN AT ZONES THIS WEEKEND!! At the time of issuing this newsletter, Dmitriy has placed 4th in the 50 Breast and Payton has placed 11th in the 50 Fly, an amazing way to represent DFAC. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
