DFAC Happenings - 04/25/2025

Abby Bare

MEET DIRECTOR

We are still in search of a parent who is willing to step up and join the board as our Meet Director.   Andi can assist and train during the May & June meets.  This is not a role the rest of the board can fill and need a parent volunteer to fulfill this role.  Please email me at [email protected] or Andi at [email protected] for more information.

ANNUAL BANQUET – LOST AND FOUND

 We had a crockpot lid mix up at the banquet.  We have one family in search of their glass crockpot lid and a white Nesco type lid left behind.  If families could please check their crockpots/lids to ensure they have the correct lid, that would be appreciated.  If you are missing your lid or have the wrong lid, please reach out to Mandy ([email protected]).

DRYLAND PRACTICE CHANGES

With Coach Harrison starting, we will be adjusting the dryland practice schedule.  The changes have been updated on the Spring Practice Schedule.   Here are the changes:

  • Gold: M & W -> Tu & Th
  • Seniors: M, W, Th -> M, Tu, Th

HOME MEET VOLUNTEERING

Job sign up for our home meet will be opening on Sunday, April 27th @ 6 pm.  As reminder, these are approximate times and all families are required to work 1 session per swimmer.

Session 1:  Open (this will be primarily 11 & over)

Session 2:  10&U and 8&U

STILL NEED GRILLERS!!  - ATHLETIC COMPLEX VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

There are still 4 slots open for grillers for the Athletic Complex on 6/7 and 6/8.  Please consider signing up as this was one of our largest fundraising events last year.  With our meet revenue being down, we need your help more than ever to continue to be a successful club.  Please sign up via TeamUnify.

HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS

A few reminders for parents/swimmers:

  • Parents are allowed to stay for practice but should remain upstairs in the mezzanine.
  • Parking lot: with the HS spring sports in full swing, please be mindful in the parking lot as people are darting in and out of the cars.  Also, as a reminder, do not block other cars while waiting to pick up your swimmer.
  • For the safety of our younger swimmers, the Purple and Silver practice groups should only use the family locker room.  The individual bathrooms are for 1 swimmer at a time.
  • The pool will shut down for 30 minutes whenever lightning strikes within 10 miles of the building.  Some practice groups may remain and do dryland activities but please keep an eye on TeamSnap if coaches call practice during inclement weather.

2025 BIRD BATH INVITATIONAL

DFAC will be attending the 26th Bird Bath Invitiational in Appleton on July 11-13th.  This is a outdoor, 50M meet and has limited availability.  As in previous years, this will be based on seniority.   Please email [email protected] if your swimmer is interested in the meet.

Additionally, hotels are filling quickly.  The invite does have room blocks and you can find that information here:  2025 Bird Bath Open Invite Host Hotels

MAY HOME SWIM MEET RAFFLE BASKET DONATIONS

The board is now accepting donations for a raffle gift basket to raffle off during the May meet.  This will be a fundraising opportunity for the club.   Donations can be from local vendors, stores or a donation from families.   We’d love to get gift cards, sporting equipment, jelly cats, squishmallows, or candy to add to the basket.

Please contact [email protected] to coordinate donation drop offs
