Trying to keep track of all the Mighty Marlins swimming at Girls District Meets this weekend proved to be quite a task!  However, it was spectacular to see all their hard work pay off with such great success. For Lake Stevens at the 4A District meet Emily Jacobson had 2 top 6 finishes, Kara Libra had 2 top 12 finishes, Parker Reid was top 18 in 2 events, and Amanda Pan was top 18 in 1.  Emily and Kara are off to state as part of the high flying 200...

The 2014 Pacific Coast All Star Meet will be hosted by Pacific Northwest Swimming January 4-5, 2014 in Olympia at the Evergreen State College Pool. Athlete Applications as well as Athlete Selection Criteria are posted to the PNS website under SWIMMERS > Age Group Swimming dropdown box.  

With nearly 100 competitors in each age group 7 Mighty Marlins came away with top 6 trophies in the Chinook Pentathlon.  Trophies were awarded for overall placing  in the 5 events that swimmers competed in.  Jetlynn Hau and Jeffrey Lozensky each won their age group.  Maggie Delaney, Erik Anderson and Madie Elsner took 2nd in their age groups, and Madelynn Butler was 4th, and Chris Anderson 6th!  Others swam very well at the meet: Kaylee Mackey had 4 best times, Mieko Schwartzmiller 3, Caitlyn Anderson 2, and Lawren Rainey 1.

The Mighty Marlins started the afternoon session with a bang as the senior boys relay of  Josh Christos, Kirby Schaufler, Nathaniel Goldor, and Tanner Desjardins easy defeated all other teams with an impressive 1:50.87 clocking.  In the afternoon several Marlins scored top 6 finishes.  Tanner won the 50 breast and was 2nd in the 100 free and 4th in the 50 fly.  Josh took 2nd in the 50 breast and 400 free and was 5th in the 50 fly.  Nathaniel took 5th in the 200 fly, Madie Elsner was 4th...

Thanks to all who helped us raise over $12,000 in our annual SWIM-A-THON.  We celebrated by giving participants their prizes.  Maggie Delaney walked away with the "bag-o-stuff" that every swimmer can use.  Pictured are our top money raisers by age group.  You have probably spotted Marlins with mesh bags full of equipment like hand paddles pull buoys and fins.  Yes! They earned those by raising certain amounts in the SWIM-A-THON.  Again, Good job Mighty Marlins!!

Behind Bindi Pedersens 5 victories and 2 PNS Records the Mighty Marlins took 12th in the 50 team field at the PNS Championships in Federal Way.  Bindi's records came in the 200 and 400 IM, and her other victories came in the 100 and 200 breast and in the 400 free.  Earning top16 was tough but Abby Magee and Karlie Rimat each did it 7 times.
