Chris Anderson led the way with 11 best times and 6 top 8 finishes at Divisional Champs in Federal Way! Chris won the 100 backstoke in a blistering 58.39, he was 2nd in the 100 free, 100 breast, 200 back and 200 free, and was 5th in the 100 fly. Karlie Rimat not only placed in the top 8 in all 6 of her events, she also had best times in all her events including bettering her prelims times in finals in each opportunity. Melody Coleman proudly represented the Mighty Marlins at the NCSA Junior Nationals in Orlando Florida. Melody swam a strong 100 breaststroke at the meet and also swam the 200 breaststroke. The Marlins were very proud to have a Marlin qualify to compete in such a prestigious meet. Melody also competed in the Family Putt-Putt Golf Nationals, in between her races.
Three Mighty Marlins competed at the incredibly tough Senior Sectional Meet in Federal Way! Melody Coleman Led the way with great swims in the 400 IM, 200 IM, and 100 breaststroke. She was 47th in the 100 breaststroke with a very fast 1:05.86 clocking. Jeffrey Lozensky swam all the toughest events competing in the 400 IM and the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle. Jeffrey hit the top 100 in both the distance events. Abby Magee swam a very strong 200 butterfly at the meet.
Maggie Delaney swam best time in each event she swam and bettered it again in finals each time. That kind of swimming shows incredible endurance, competing in 6 events in one day and improving with each swim. Leah Taylor also had a rash of best times tallying 8. Chris Anderson coming off a very strong high school season had 5 best times and Jeffrey Lozensky, Matt Owen and Nathaniel Goldor, also straight from high school each had multiple best times. Bjorn Leigh and Lauren Carson did their first ever 1000 freestyle and did very well at the Storm Distance Meet in Lake Stevens. Abby Magee, Josh Christos, Skyler Walker and Kirby Schaufler also did the 1000. Skyler knocked nearly a full minute off her time and Josh improved 33 seconds. In the 1650 Maggie Delaney had a strong race and Karlie Rimat dropped 42 seconds to make a sectional time. Congratulations to all our amazing distance swimmers!
