MMSC Parent Meeting – May 28, 2014   Why We Host Meets -When we host a meet, we make money.Our rent at MPHS is close to $5000 a month.This does not include our coaching staff salaries (and they are some of the lowest paid coaches in PNS).Hosting successful meets is what helps keep us from raising our dues.    LC Meet at KCAC on June 21-22 -This is our trial run hosting a meet at KCAC.Important for everyone to help so we will be ready for the HUGE meet next...

Jetlynn Hau won 5 events at the T-Bird Classic in Anacortes.  Hoylynn won 2 events, and Lloyd had 6 top 3 finishes, to lead the Mighty Marlins.  Josh Christos had 4 top 6 finishes at the meet, Mieko Schwartzmiller had 5, Kaylee Mackey had 3, Katie Hammer and Lawren Rainey each had 2, and Julian Bunney, Tristan Pearson, Ben Veazey, and Alec Villa each had 1. Isaac Olson, Lorelei Pringle, Grace Williams, and Audrey Zimer all swam best times at the meet!

Melody Coleman won the 50 and 200 breaststroke, Emily Jacobson won the 50 fly, Karlie Rimat won the 200 back and 200 IM, and Leay Taylor was victorious in the 50 breaststroke at the Spring Sockeye Meet in Federal Way.  Other medal winners included: Erik Anderson-3rd, Maggie Delaney-3rd, Rachel Hartmeyer-3rd, Jeffrey Lozensky-2nd & 3rd, Abby Magee-2nd & 2nd, and Matt Owen-3rd.  Marlins taking ribbons for top 16 finishes included: Caitlynn Anderson, Chris Anderson, Nathaniel Goldor, and Skyler Walker.

Mighty Marlin swimmers and their families raised nearly $600.00 for the victims of the Oso area mud slide!  Thanks to Rocket Alley for letting us use their facility!  Way to go concerned and always thoughtful Marlins!

Karlie Rimat scored 132 points in her events to win the overall title at Holland Happenings in Oak Harbor by 50 points.  Maggie Delaney scored 118 points for a 3 point win, and Chris Anderson took first with 101 points.  Other Marlins winning individual events included: Caitlyn Anderson winning 6 events and Madelynn Butler and Josh Christos each winning 1.  Erik Anderson, Nathaniel Goldor, Kaylee Mackey, Karriann Paxton, Noah Paxton, Zoe Rutledge, Skylar Van Der Putten, Anna Veazey, Ben Veazey, Skyler Walker, and Audrey Zimer all had strong top 10...

The Marlins Celebrated another great season of learning and growing at our annual SC Banquet and Dessert Auction! Most Improved Marlins included: Lorelei Pringle, Lloyd Hau, Karriann Paxton, Philip Wold, Alexis Bennett, Bjorn Leigh, Jessica Abele, Matt Owen, and Parker Reid. Most Outstanding Marlins included: Caitlyn Anderson, Leah Taylor, Maggie Delaney, Jetlynn Hau, Gideon Marlatt, Karlie Rimat, Abby Magee, Melody Coleman, and Chris Anderson. P.S. We raised over $300.00 at the auction!

Chris Anderson led the way with 11 best times and 6 top 8 finishes at Divisional Champs in Federal Way!  Chris won the 100 backstoke in a blistering 58.39, he was 2nd in the 100 free, 100 breast, 200 back and 200 free, and was 5th in the 100 fly.  Also making finals were:  Emily Jacobson, 2nd in the 100 fly, 9th in the 50 free, 17th in the 200 IM and 200 free, and 23rd in the 100 free. Melody Coleman proudly represented the Mighty Marlins at the NCSA Junior Nationals in Orlando Florida.  Melody swam a strong 100 breaststroke at the meet and also swam the 200 breaststroke.  The Marlins were very proud to have a Marlin qualify to compete in such a prestigious meet. Melody also competed in the Family Putt-Putt Golf Nationals, in between her races.
