Senior 1 This is our largest group, so we selected two Swimmer of the Month. Reagan Uhlik-Reagan swam three best times in the month of June and had ogther good races during hard training. She consistantly works hard in practice and displays a great team attitude. Sophia Jahn-Sophia has shown an improved work ethic and attitude. 14 Gold Medal swimmers travelled to Los Angeles to swim in the LA Invite at the University of Southern California. This meet which required Future’s times to enter offered high level competition to those that participated. Most of the swimmers recorded at least one best time and experienced staying in a college dorm. Gold Medal placed second at the Age Group State Championships on July 14-17. This was an impressive performance since ten of our best 13-14 year old swimmers, were at other meets. Top swimmers included Langston Lindsey, who was the high point winner in 11-12 boys and Alexa Largent, who was second place by a point in the 11-12 girls high point competiton. Gold Medal swam competitively at Mt. Hood Community College in Oregon with one of the youngest teams at the meet. GM swimmers did exceptionally well in their distance events, and overall, our team placed 18th. Gold Medal Swim Club won the 2022 long course Senior State Championships by 900 points over Phoenix Swim Club, Swim Neptune, and Scottsdale Aquatic Club. Gold Medal was led by top 10 individual point scorers, Clare Luken, Ava Elliott, Paige Downey, Jack Luken, Landon Driggers, Evan Nail, Trey Hesser, and MIcha Lyubavskiy. Gold Medal Swim Club was named the 37th best 12 and under team in the United States for 2021-22. This ranking is based on meet results of swimmers ranked in the top 20 in the United States for their age group. Congrats to all for swimming fast at the Narwhal Invite, here are the meet reviews! Age Group 2 Age Group 2 raced exceedingly well at the Narwhal Invite. We achieved 100% improvement at this meet, each swimmer dropped time in at least one or more individual events. We had some new first time event finalists: Joselyn Franzone, Cullen Kelly, Ashton Largent, Rachel Spresney, Teagan Tolson, Angela You and Ander Yu.
