The racing at this year's Tri-City Invitational in Pasco, Washington was just like the weather: nice and hot! The Waves sent 24 swimmers to the meet, competing against teams from Inland Empire Swimming, as well as a few Oregon and Seattle teams. Whitworth University swimmer Rory Buck, who coaches and competes with the Waves in the summer months, set the tone by winning the 100 and 200 Breaststroke, the latter in meet record time. Pac Coast Recap After waking up before 5 AM, and loading up the two 15 passenger vans, we were off to Seattle to race at the 1990 Goodwill Games pool. The venue was great, the weather was nice, and it was our first crack at racing in a 50 Meter pool. The 2011 Waves Big Splash Awards Banquet is TONIGHT at Gonzaga University! Dinner starts at 6:00 PM, awards at 7:00 PM. The coaches will be all fancied up, complete with ties, so dress is business semi-formal in the casual way. Eight swimmers braved the uncertain forecast and headed down to Lewiston for the Fazzari's Invitational. After a cool morning, Saturday turned into a beautiful day, with temperatures in the high 80's and some off and on wind.
