Fast & Food. That's my recap of the meet. Not only was it a great chance to relax on a week night, but our kids swam awesomely fast. Thanks again to Doug Lydig for helping with the BBQ and cooking. It was a great experience we will try to do again next year. There were 17 first time swimmers in an outdoor 50M pool. 88 swimmers swam 144 best times. Two out of every three swims was a best time, and along the way we set 5 team records.   ...

While the weather wasn't the best, we  swam quite well at Summer Solstice.  Here's the recap. 76 athletes from the Spokane Waves joined the nearly 600 swimmers from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana at the 2011 Summer Solstice Meet at Witter Pool. Fourteen team records were set during the weekend competition, eight of which were individual and six came in relays. Kaylee Beck’s team record in the 200 butterfly was especially sweet, as she achieved her first ever Senior Sectional qualifying time. Cheney families, On Monday and Tuesday of next week (6/20 and 6/21) there will be a camp at EWU that is going to use the pool during our normal practice time.  We will still have practice, but we need to change our practice time for those two days.  Age group will swim 1:30pm-3:00pm, Ripples from 2:00-2:45pm and Recreation (on Monday) from 1:30-2:00pm.  Sorry for the late change in schedule - just found out about this one.  See you at the pool!  - Serena
