Two Spokane Waves Masters Swimmers, Harm Jan Steenhuis and Dan Sheahan, headed down to Mesa, Arizona this past weekend for the United States Masters National Championships.  Over 1800 swimmers participated in the meet in various age groups.  There were many former Olympians participating in the event, such as former Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record holder Ed Moses, who set three US National Records for the 30-34 Age Group.                 Battle of the Waves Swim-A-Thon YAY!  SWIM-A-THON IS HERE!  THE FOLLOWING IS THE SWIM-A-THON TIMELINE: 0800:   GROUP 1 arrives, checks in, tally sheets/pencils will be given to the family member or friend that will be counting lengths for the swimmer. 0800-1000:   Group 1 swimmers will do their laps.  Swimmers may use any aids for swimming their lengths (fins, paddles, boards, ect…).  It is a fun event for the swimmers, therefore many swim with their boards, socializing and listening to music!   ~ There will be...

Congratulations Waves swimmers and families on a fun, fast, and smooth Triple Pentathlon meet.  Ninety-nine Waves swimmers competed, stopping the clock with an amazing 365 best times, 80 of which were first time swims!  In order to be eligible for a pentathlon award, swimmers would have to complete all five events each day.
