Open Water Champion, Eva Fabia, of GMSC placed second for a silver medal, in the OW 10K at the PAN PACIFIC Championships in Irvine, CA. Her USA teammate beat her by only 2 seconds! For a full story, click HERE. Congratulations EVA!

Elizabeth Beisel (ABF) is continuing to swim strong at the Pan Pacifics out in Irvine, CA. After placing 2nd in the pre-lims of the 200 backstroke, Elizabeth managed to pull away from her USA teammate for the win! Congratulations Elizabeth! For live results, click HERE.

Elizabeth Beisel, (Bluefish Swim Club), won the 400 IM at the PAN PACS in Irvine, CA. Her pre-lim swim of 4:34.04 set a new meet record. USA Swimming states: "Elizabeth Beisel took advantage of a strong backstroke leg to separate herself from the rest of the field in the women’s 400m IM, winning gold in 4:34.69, just 65-hundredths of a second off the Pan Pac record she set in this morning’s prelims. Australia’s Samantha Hamill was second in 4:37.84, followed by Beisel’s teammate Caitlin Leverenz in third in 3:38.03. American...

AGE GROUP COACH OF THE YEAR The New England Coaches have spoken! Christie Batchelor, from The Bluefish Swim Club (ABF) has been elected as New England Swimming's Age Group Coach of the year! Christie Batchelor joined the Bluefish in September 2005 as Age Group Head Coach, Swim School Program Director, Vice-President and Co-owner with her husband Chuck. Fielding one of the largest teams in New England Swimming's Eastern Zone history certainly paid off with a 3rd place finish! The team placed behind Potomac Valley and Virginia Swimming, and managed to pull ahead of Mid Atlantic to beat them by 14.5 points. Our Boy's team placed 3rd and the Girl's team placed 5th. New England Swimming will be well represented at the PAN PACS held on August 18-21 in Irvine, CA. Elizabeth Beisel from ABF, who won the 200 Backstroke at Nationals, Eva Fabian from GMSC, who won the 10K Open Water at Worlds and Alex Meyer from CRIM, who won the 10K Open Water, have been selected to compete for the USA Swim Team. At the New England Open LCM Championships, Alex Forrester of the Bluefish Swim Club broke the New England 100 LCM Butterfly record. Her time of 1:02.28 was good enough to break the 1989 record of 1:02.68 set by Olympian, Jenny Thompson. Alex also holds the New England Resident record set in 2009 with a 59:31.
