Eva Fabian, of GMSC, placed 3rd in the 10K Open Water event and a very close 2nd in the 5K, this past weekend at the National Open Water Championships. Alex Meyer of Crimson Aquatics placed 4th in both the 10 K and 5 K events, and Blake Lewkowitz of Crimson Aquatics placed 32nd in the 10K and 10th in the 5 K. Click HERE for full story and results. The Jenny Thompson Pool in Dover, NH was in danger of being closed due to budget cuts. They recently heard that the pool will remain open, largely because of all the support of the New England Swimming Community. Please read this letter from the SSA President and thank you for all of your support!
This fine young swimmer was one of eight swimmers, in his age group from around the country, selected to participate in the USA Swimming Diversity Camp held this past month in Colorado Springs. This was no surprise to his coaches , Matt Craven and Susan Trainer of the Shawmut Aquatic Group. They state that Shawn Nee leads by example and attends every practice committed to train hard and perform at the highest level. This swimmer has learned to manage her time so efficiently that she can play field hockey in the fall, and still manage to get to swim practice every day, AND, be an honor roll student!
