HAPIE:
THE CORE OF WHO WE ARE

Aquajets is a value-based, purpose-driven organization built upon the idea that swimming can be both fun and competitive. Our dedicated staff works as a team toward one common goal: success for every athlete at every level.

HAPIE is our foundation; it’s at the heart of all we do. HAPIE embodies four influential core values:
Humility
Accountability
Perseverance
Integrity
Empathy

It’s pretty simple: HAPIE athletes (and the parents and coaches who support them) make better swimmers—faster swimmers. What’s more, we recognize that HAPIE swimmers also make better doctors and lawyers, bankers and business people, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends—and communities. This foundation produces strong, confident, well-rounded individuals. Success comes from keeping the sport fun and making sure each swimmer has the opportunity to succeed and the resources to achieve their goals. Ultimately, our focus is on ensuring that participation in the sport is a positive and FUN experience.

HAPIE DEFINED
Humility
Our swimmers strive to be selfless, grateful, conscientious, grounded and supportive of each other. They work to be thankful to their teammates for pushing them in practice and cheer them on at meets. Humble swimmers express gratitude to coaches, parents, volunteers, and officials.
"True humility is not thinking less of yourself. It's thinking of yourself less."  ~ C.S. Lewis

Accountability
Our swimmers are accountable; they take ownership of their attitudes, effort and preparation and hold themselves to only the highest standards.

Perseverance
Our team members understand the definition of perseverance—the “steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.” They acknowledge that failure, disappointment and frustration are all necessary ingredients to learning and, ultimately, success.
We understand that failure is a necessary part of learning to persevere—FAIL=First Attempt In Learning.

Integrity
Our swimmers push themselves to the edge of their abilities; regularly stepping out of their comfort zones. They know that true champions do EXTRA! Aquajets swimmers are expected to: do things right without cutting corners—or do them over; to be conscious of what they do and say, and how it affects others; work to shed a positive light on their teammates, parents, coaches, and team in all they do; and to act respectfully toward one another, toward others' personal property and the facility.

Empathy
Our swimmers care about and listen to their teammates. They are concerned for their teammates’ well-being and share in their happiness when they succeed and are compassionate when a teammate is struggling. Our swimmers try to put themselves in their teammates’ shoes (fins) and understand their feelings.
