GSCY Storm's very own Anna Moesch and Emily Thompson have qualified to represent the United States at the 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships! The Junior Pan Pacs will be held August 24-27, 2022 at the K. Mark Takai Veterans Memorial Aquatics Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Swimmers aged 18 and under as of December 31st of the competition year are eligible to compete at the Junior Pan Pacs. GSCY Storm celebrated a successful short course season during its end-of-season banquet at Forest Lodge on Sunday, April 24th. With over 500 swimmers and guests in attendance, the team enjoyed an afternoon of fun, food, and games. The graduating seniors were also recognized for their contributions and had a chance to share their favorite memories of GSCY. GSCY Storm showcased amazing swims throughout the 2022 YMCA Nationals, which was held from March 28th to April 1st at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, NC. With a total of 606 combined points, and out of 170 total teams across the country, GSCY Storm won 2nd place in the overall Combined Team category, its highest placement ever in a short course nationals competition. GSCY Storm age groupers displayed some fantastic and fast swimming at the 2022 Eastern Zone SC Age Group Championships, held from March 30th to April 2nd at the Webster Aquatic Center in Webster, NY. USA Swimming announced its annual Club Excellence Program rankings, and GSCY is proud to be recognized as a Silver Medal Club for 2022! Coming in with nearly 19,000 season points, GSCY was the highest ranked swim club in New Jersey Swimming. GSCY was one of only four swim clubs in New Jersey Swimming to be recognized, and was followed by Scarlet Aquatics (16,607 points), YMCA of Greater Monmouth County (5,447 points), and Jersey Flyers Aquatic Club (4,759 points). USA Swimming has announced its 2021 National Junior Team Roster, and Jack Alexy has been selected to join the team! Jack qualified in the 100 Free, posting the fastest qualifying time of 48.69 (from the 2020 Olympic Wave II Trials), and in the 50 Free, with the second fastest qualifying time of 22.47 (also from the 2020 Olympic Wave II Trials).
