Wave: Time Trials Tomorrow!

RST Secretary

Hi Wave!

Reminder that Time Trials is held at Rocklin High School – not WHS!

Signups are closed for swimmers. We still have a couple of spots for parents – if you’d like to swim (25 free), please let me know!

13-14s: Since there will be room in the heats during the 15-18 swims, you may be able to swim an extra event if you would like! I plan on talking to the swimmers during practice today and tomorrow morning to explain more.

Timeline:

  • Gates will open at 6:30am - please check in at both the volunteer check in table (parents) AND your swimmer's age group tent. Swimmer check in begins at 7:00am and closes at 7:30am!
  • Snack Bar Opens 7:00am.
  • Swimmer Check in closes at 7:30am. Please make sure to arrive and have your swimmers check in before 7:30am or your swimmer will be unable to swim!
  • Warmups will begin at 7:30am. 7:30-7:50 11-12 and 13 & up. 7:50-8:10 9-10, 6 & under (rough estimate). 8:10-8:25 7-8.
  • Meet will start at 8:30am
  • 6 & under swimmers will finish at approximately 10:30 or 11:00 am. Time Trials will end at approximately 2:00pm.
  • Timeline for Volunteers is approximate. Shift Change (for everything but Snack Bar) will be after the backstroke events, about halfway through the day.
  • Parent Swim at Time Trials - will take place after the backstroke events (and at shift change).

Family Camp Set-Up

It is a good idea for families to share tents/camp space if possible.  There is NO set up on Friday night.

You may set up a tent at the top of the bleachers, remember that if it is breezy, you will want to anchor it down. Each age group has a tent in the left corner when looking at the scoreboard. Swimmers are welcome to come and visit their age team tent and need to come to their age group tent at least 4 events before they swim.  Age group reps are there to help the meet run smoothly but there is limited space so swimmer cannot camp out there the entire day.  Please help by having your swimmer at the age group tent 4 events before, ready to swim.  This means that they have their cap and goggles with them.

Parent Volunteers

Please check in at the Volunteer Booth and receive your name tags for the day.  Please check in first thing regardless of when your shift is.

What to Bring/Expect

Every swimmer will swim every individual event for their age group. There are no relays at Time Trials - if your swimmer is 7 or above and you are leaving the meet early for any reason, please let your coach know.

Each swimmer should make sure that he or she has the proper equipment for each meet:

  1. Suit, goggles, towels, swim cap.
  2. Warm clothes for after warmups.
  3. Shade structures are recommended.
  4. Snacks and drinks--our snack bar is also available.
  5. A deck of cards, books or board games to occupy swimmers between events.

Snack Bar (MENU ATTACHED)

Our snack bar opens at approximately 7:00am. CASH OR VENMO.

Buddies: Don't forget to bring your buddy a Gatorade!

If you were not part of the first round of Buddies and are interested, I will send out the survey again in the next Weekly Mail for a second and final round of kids.
