WELCOME TO ROCKLIN MAVERICKS (Club Code ROC):

Our year-round competitive Mavericks group offers high quality professional coaching and technique instruction within the Sierra Nevada Swim League under USA Swimming. Our goal is to provide every athlete an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at their level of ability, from novice to international competitor. All of our coaches are USA Swim Certified and have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States.

We strive to maintain a healthy competitive environment. Personal progress in the sport of competitive swimming does not resemble a straight line; even the most dedicated swimmers will experience ups and downs. Our coaches work with swimmers with personal attention to the swimmer's specific needs.

We have 5 training groups starting with swimmers as young as 5 and as old as our returning college swimmers. There are training and racing requirements to be on the Mavericks. All new swimmers will need to schedule a tryout or have coaches approval to register for the team. 

Our Mavericks swimmers are members of USA Swimming in good standing and attend USA swimming sanctioned competitions.  Most USA sanctioned meets are 2 days and sometimes longer for the upper tiers of championship competition.  

There are volunteer requirements as well. We are required as a team to provide timers at every meet as well as provide meet Officials. If you are interested in becoming a meet official, please contact: [email protected].

Practice times are in the evenings mid-August through early June. Summer practice times will be in the morning.
 

Once you join the year-round Mavericks group there is no need to re-register every year.

However if you are a new swimmer to the group, please follow these steps to join:

1) Schedule tryout appointment by emailing [email protected] 

2) Once approved by the coach, the registrar will provide instructions to register.  Our Parent Tab also has helpful information including our Mavericks handbook under documents section to get you started after joining.

3) Information about the fees payable for your USA swim membership can be found here.

4) Purchase swim equipment for swimmer(s). Visit our Team Store & Suit page for more information
