Wave: Weekly Mail 6/16

RST Secretary

Hi Wave!

Practice Information

Rocklin @ FEC: Although the pool was chilly, our spirits were high, and we had another great meet! We either dropped some time or learned how to improve our races for next time, which are both amazing things. Let's keep up the good work and positive attitude until the end of the season!

Notes on Meet Entries: I know some swimmers have been disappointed that I have changed their races during the meets. I have done this for a couple of reasons – one, we need to have enough swimmers in each race to allow the dual meet scoring to occur. Also, the coaches discuss the entries prior to each meet and want to make sure that our swimmers are trying new races and not missing swims where they have a lot of potential. If you have specific questions, feel free to reach out.

Rocklin @ West Sac: Signups will open Wednesday, June 18

Swim-A-Thon: Our swim-a-thon is coming up! We appreciate your help in this annual event. All information can be found at the link. We are asking for just a $50 contribution per family. Funds go to extras that improve our programming (last year we were able to purchase the Time Drops system to improve our meets, along with additional dryland equipment). Donate, help the team, win a prize!

Parents: if you are available to volunteer during your swimmer’s practice time, please sign up at the link under “Job Signups”.

Team Photos: Big thank you to Matt Francis for taking all our photos last week! The link to the photos and info on purchasing will be sent out from Matty Fran Media within the next week.

June Events:

June 18: Fundraising at Tomatina – lunch, dinner and takeout all day.

June 25Swim-a-Thon during normal practice times

June 28: Rocklin @ West Sac

Fun Friday with Otter Pops: every Friday in June!

New Team Merchandise: We have some additional items available from https://www.west-coast-swag.com/shop/rocklin-swim-team. Thanks Rocklin Swim Team Parent Andrea Johnson for putting this together for us. Full details for all Team Gear can be found on our website HERE.

Family Folders: Please remind your kids to be careful when going through the folders and grabbing their ribbons. Name tabs have been falling off and they are being put back in the wrong order. We would appreciate your help to keep them organized and alphabetical. NOTE: FEC ran out of 5th place ribbons. If your swimmer earned one, those will be delivered later this week.
