REGISTRATION:  All athletes currently registered for Alamo Area Water Polo will have their monthly payments stopped this month (no one will be charged on August 1st).  All athletes (new and returning athletes) will need to complete the Athlete Registration (one time yearly fee of $50) and the first monthly payment will be on September 1st.  

 
Alamo Area Water Polo will be known as AAAA Water Polo - Alamo Heights beginning with this upcoming Fall Season and beyond.  The AAAA Water Polo - Alamo Heights - Fall Season will begin the week of Monday, August 19th at the Alamo Heights Natatorium and Josh Davis Natatorium (Athlete Registration).  There will no longer be practices at the SWISD Aquatic Center.  The AAAA Water Polo - Alamo Heights will have up to 4-5 training sessions each week (plus dryland/video training).  Additionally, there will be beginner programs for 10U athletes.  All athletes are welcome and there will be a practice group for everyone (no experience necessary…beginners are welcome!!!).  We want all athletes to do what they can when they can.  The expectation is for athletes to choose which practice location/times work best for their schedule. 
 
Athletes will be split into practice groups based on age/experience so please be sure to choose the proper practice group when registering (age as of August 1, 2025).  There will be multiple practices each week for the various age groups, plus Game Days, and Weekend Tournaments.  The monthly club dues include all practices and Game Days.  For the optional Weekend Tournaments, there will be additional costs.  All fall practices, Game Days and weekend tournaments have been updated at the Alamo Area Water Polo – Online Calendar.  Again, ALL ARE WELCOME at the club…come out, play, practice, compete, learn, and have fun (please spread the word….Athlete Registration and Fall Season).

  • Programs/Practice Days/Times:  Age as of August 1, 2025.  We want all athletes to do what they can when they can.  The expectation is for athletes to choose which practice location/times works best.  All days and times are subject to change.  
    • 18U/16U Athletes will train 4-5 days/week at a cost of $150/month
      • Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays: 7:00-9:00 p.m. M/W at the Alamo Heights Natatorium, Thursday at the Josh Davis Natatorium (NEISD)
      • Mondays & Wednesdays: Dryland/Video 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Alamo Heights Natatorium
      • Saturday Practice: 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Alamo Heights Natatorium
      • Sundays:  1 x Game Day/month 
    • 14U/12U Athletes will train  3-4 days/week at a cost of $120 month 
      • Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays: 7:00-8:30 p.m. Monday at the Josh Davis Natatorium (NEISD), T/Th at the Alamo Heights Natatorium
      • Tuesdays: Dryland/Video 6:30-7:00 p.m. at the Alamo Heights Natatorium
      • Sundays:  1 x Game Day/month 
    • 10U Athletes will train  3-4 days/week at a cost of $100 month 
      • Tuesdays, & Thursdays: 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Alamo Heights Natatorium
      • Tuesdays: Dryland/Video 6:30-7:00 p.m. at the Alamo Heights Natatorium
      • Sundays:  1 x Game Day/month 
    • Splashball will be offered twice/week T or Th from 4-5 p.m. at a cost of $50/month. Splashball will be small groups who are ages 6-10 years old who are not quite ready to play.  It is primarily in our shallow pool. 
    • Swim to Play will be offered on Saturdays from 11-1 p.m. (1 hour blocks) at a cost of $50/month.  Swim to play is for those who need to work on their swimming skills before playing water polo or joining the swim team.  This is not a learn to swim program.  The prerequisite is that the athlete can swim 50 yards in the deep end.  All ages are welcomed.
Game Days:  All athletes will have the opportunity to play in Game Days (part of monthly dues, no extra costs).  Athletes will automatically be assigned to at least one team and play at least two games each game day (games within a division will be scheduled back to back or with one game break...no waiting around all day for games).  A schedule for each Game Day will be emailed to everyone the Monday prior to the specific Game Day.  There is no extra charge for these Game Days as this is part of the program/seasonal dues.  Some Game Days will simply be intra-club while others will be against other club teams in the South Texas area.  All Game Days will be at the Alamo Heights Natatorium.
  • AAAA Water Polo - Alamo Heights - Fall Game Day #1:  Sunday, August 25th.  All Athletes/Age Groups. Alamo Area Intra-Club Games.
  • AAAA Water Polo - Alamo Heights - Fall Game Day #2:  Sunday, September 22nd.  All Athletes/Age Groups. Alamo Area Intra-Club Games.
  • AAAA Water Polo - Alamo Heights - Fall Game Day #3:  Sunday, October 27th.  All Athletes/Age Groups. Alamo Area Intra-Club Games.
Weekend Tournaments:  All athletes will have the opportunity to play in optional Weekend Tournaments throughout the year.  For the weekend tournaments, athletes/parents will receive an email for each event.   The weekend tournaments do require extra costs regarding entry fees, possible travel expenses, etc.  All info regarding costs, transportation, hotels, etc. for the specific event will be included in a tournament specific email.  Athletes/Parents will need to register by the “commitment deadline” in order to insure their participation.  We will enter as many teams as needed to make sure everyone gets plenty of playing time.  This will be the same process for ALL weekend tournaments out of town or local in San Antonio.
  • Armadillo Classic – September 7-8, 2024 at the LISD Eastside Aquatic Center in North Texas. 14U/12U/10U Athletes.
  • Alamo Classic (14U/12U/10U Divisions) – October 5-6, 2024 at the Alamo Heights Natatorium in San Antonio.  14U/12U/10U Athletes.
  • TAGS Water Polo Champs – November 2-3, 2024 location TBD.  14U/12U/10U Athletes.
     
  • Mavericks Tournament (18U/16U Divisions) - November 23-24, 2024 at the LISD Eastside Aquatic Center.  18U/16U Athletes.
