Senior Champs Recap Wave swimmers continued upon our success at Age Group Champs by turning in a fantastic performance at the Washington State Senior Championship Meet. Our team placed 6th overall (out of 29 teams). It was an awesome weekend full of very fast swims. PNS 14&U Championship Meet Recap Wave swimmers continued our recent success of high performance at elite meets with our 4th place team finish (out of 27 teams) at PNS Champs! Sixty-seven different swimmers scored points for Wave, with our amazing relay teams leading the way. US Open & Winter Junior Nationals Meet Recaps This month, Wave was represented by two swimmers from Senior Epic in two different national meets. Jaiden Sreenivasan qualified to swim his first US Open and Daniel Xia qualified for the first time for Winter Junior Nationals. USA Swimming National Meets are built to follow a progressive tier of cuts. Fall Divisionals Meet Recap Wave swimmers dominated at the first Championships of the Fall Season, the first of three consecutive weekends of champs meets. Wave won the North Division handily by more than 200 points. November AGI & Distance Meet Recaps Wave swimmers showed up big at Kamiak High School for the November Age Group Invitational, our last meet before December championships! MMSC November Invitational Wave’s AG1, AG2 and Senior Prep swimmers journeyed up to Marysville for the first meet with relays to test US Swimming’s new motivational relay times and wow did our relay teams impress, including two AAAA times! Sport Team & Seniors Test Out New Meet Format For the 2024-25 Short Course Swim Season, USA Swimming created a Pilot Program called Block Party Swim Meets. Wave Aquatics was selected to be a member of the program. This is an exciting way to make hosting meets for novice athletes easier and promote more competitions for athletes. We are excited to announce that Wave swimmer Daniel Xia has been selected as a 2023-2024 USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. USA Swimming recognizes swimmers who have achieved at least one Winter Junior Nationals qualifying time as well as maintaining a minimun GPA of 3.5 for the 2023-2024 academic year. Daniel swims in the Senior Epic group and works very hard both in the pool and in the classroom. We are very happy to have one of our swimmers achieve this amazing recognition. Way to go Daniel. Wave Rocktober Open Meet Recap Wave’s Sport Team kicked off the new season with a great weekend of swimming while the Select Team joined in, swimming just one day. SSCD Autumn Open Meet Recap The Select Team kicked off the new season with a great weekend of swimming. We had time drops all weekend long and the athletes left the meet with new best times, new cuts, and a good feeling for where they are starting the season.
