CONGRATULATIONS to BRAYDEN SALMON, who has been added to the Swimming Canada Junior National Tour to Great Britain from Dec.27-Jan.16.

Nother's Food List
Each family is required to contribute a food item as specified on the club food list.  Families not providing the requested food item will be billed for the allotted amount plus an administrative fee of $5.00 on their Travel Account.  The food contribution is required whether or not your swimmer is participating in the meet.

When a family drops off their food contribution, there is a list to check your name; it is the responsibility of the family to ensure the name is checked off.

What’s our Goal?

We are starting a number of new and exciting fundraising initiatives this year that we hope will be around for years to come.  Our goal is to help you reduce the cost of membership by providing the opportunity to earn fundraising money by purchasing items you are already purchasing!

 

We are starting the following programs this week with new programs to come in the new year.

CHEESES and JELLIES and DOUGH…OH MY!

Hosting an upcoming festive party?  Belong to a cookie exchange?  Top Fundraisers is helping LAC by offering cheese, frozen cookie/ muffin/ cupcake/ batter dough, and jams/jellies/honey to sell.  There are also cheese gift boxes, or you can mix and match to make your own baskets.

GIFT CARDS FOR EVERYTHING!

Purchase gift cards for your gas, and earn money for your travel account every time you fill up.  Buy gift cards for your favourite grocery store and earn money every time you shop.  Have Christmas presents to buy – give them a gift card.  Know a company that gives gift cards for Christmas, have them order them through you and earn more! Wedding gift, baby shower, Birthday, even just personal shopping - the opportunities are endless; it’s all up to you! This program allows you to purchase gift cards from over 100 companies.  Each gift card earns a specified percentage of $$ towards your travel account.

Be sure to read our club policies with respect to fundraising so you understand how the amounts are applied to your travel account.

EQUIPMENT

Personlized Items The backpacks and towels are done and the wind suits and sweatshirts should be done within the next week or so. We will be at CGAC both Friday evening from 4:30-6:00  and Saturday morning from 5:30-8:30. Should you wish to pick it up at either of these times please contact Jacqui at [email protected] If you are unable to pick them up at either of these times then please email me to make alternate arrangements.
Name Tags Last Call for name tags! If you plan to volunteer down on deck at the Nothers meet then it is not too late to order your name tag. The cost is $12. If you would like to order a name tag then email Jacqui at [email protected] with exactly how you would like your name to appear no later then this Thursday November 18th.

 

TIMERS CLINICS

We will be holding our first Timer's Clinics of the 2010-11 season the weekend of Nov. 19th and 20th.  This will be a great opportunity for our new families to take this required course or for returning families to refresh their minds just in time for our first home meet of the season. Courses are being offered : FRIDAY NOVEMBER 19th at CGAC from approx. 5:45pm to 7:15pm in the multipurpose room;  SATURDAY NOVEMBER 20th at CHOCC from 7:30am-9am, meeting room.

If you plan on attending the course at this time you are only required to attend one of the above mentioned sessions.  If you have any questions please contact Pam Lewis at [email protected].

 

URGENT PLEA FOR TIMERS

Many of the sessions for the upcoming Nother's meet still require timers.  If you are able to help out please sign up using the online form.  The form can be found under events "Nother's - Minor Officials Sign-up". Some further information on the sign-up process can be found under the "Parent Info/Minor Officials" tab. Please read this before completing the form.  Please ensure that you are completing 2 forms if you are planning on having 2 people sign up for the swim meet. Please note that the deadline to sign up is November 19/10. 

 

NOTHERS CANTEEN SHIFTS

Canteen shifts are now available for the upcoming Nothers meet (November 26, 27, 28). Available shifts can be viewed on the events page of the LAC website. Please email Holly Gati at [email protected] to volunteer for sessions

 

NOTHERS SENIOR OFFICIALS

I am looking for officials for Nothers Invitational (Nov 26-28 at CGAC). This is the first major LAC-hosted meet of the season, and is double-ended, so we need lots of officials. 

For all positions other than Timer and Stroke & Turn, please email [email protected]. Let me know what sessions you are available.

If you have taken any clinics and would like to try out new positions, feel free to make requests and I will see what I can do. If you are comfortable working the ARES electronics or would like to learn, please let me know.
