CHRISTMAS TRAINING SCHEDULE
Now available on the LAC website under the schedule tab. This schedule runs from Dec 20 until Dec 31. Regular schedule resumes Jan 3.

HOLIDAY TIME TRIAL
After some fast racing everyone is invited upstairs to the Multi-Purpose Room for some Holiday pizza and good cheer. As well, we are asking that everyone bring in their nicest pair of seldom-used mittens(or some new mittens) for our Mitten Tree. These will be donated to charity.
The deadline has passed for the Holiday Time Trial. Only the swimmers that have confirmed attendance through the LAC website have been entered in the meet. If you missed the deadline and wish to attend please contact Donna at [email protected] or Andrew at [email protected]

TRAVEL STATEMENTS
Travel Statements for charges up to and including Youth Cup will be e-mailed over the course of the next week. If you have not received your travel account statement by Monday December 20th or have any questions or concerns about any of the items on the statement please contact Steve Roman @ [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>. Further instructions on paying the amount due and understanding your travel statement will be sent in a separate e-mail later this week.
STROKE AND TURN CLINIC
On December 17/10 we will be holding a stroke and turn clinic from 5pm to 7pm at CGAC. If you are able to attend, please email me at [email protected] by Wednesday December 10.
Please note that if you can attend this clinic, you will be required to stay for the duration of the clinic as there is a quiz at the end.

MINOR OFFICIALS – DECEMBER TIME TRIAL
We will be using the same sign-up system for the December time trial as we used for the October time trial. To assist parents in obtaining their strokes and turns qualifications, 12 spots have been allocated for this purpose. If you sign-up for "Stroke and Turns - trainee", you should be in the process of taking or about to take the strokes and turns clinic. During the time trial, one of the experienced strokes and turns parents will be available to help you learn more about the position. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about strokes and turns in a low pressure situation.
12 & UNDER CELEBRATION MEET
Please contact Alex Vanderkam ( email address [email protected] ) if you wish to gain valuable experience in any of the senior official positions. It will be important that you have the clinics for the areas you want to work. This is a meet where we encourage our homegrown officiating talent an opportunity to climb the ladder.
The meet is being run on Saturday January 8th and 9th of 2011. There will be 2 sessions - 1 on Saturday with warmup at 2 p.m. and 1 on Sunday with a 7:30 a.m. warmup.

SC REGIONALS – HOTEL ROOMS
Hotel rooms have been put aside for LAC families at the Best Western Brant Park Inn, Brantford. Traditional room of two double beds, free continental breakfast, rate $114.99 per night. Rooms are booked from Thurs. Feb.3rd - Sun. Feb 6th, 2011; if you prefer to change arrival or departure date please mention while booking to ensure no additional charges occur. Rooms are put aside for LAC families until Dec.23rd, 2010 whereby extra rooms will be released to the general public. Please call the Best Western at (519)753-8651 if you would like to reserve a room (your own credit card required). First come, first served basis.

Hotel rooms have been put aside for LAC families at the Holiday Inn Express, Ottawa, 45 Robertson Rd (just opened Aug., 2010). Classic rooms with 2 queen beds, free parking, "Smart Start Breakfast Bar" included in rate of $149.00 per night (one room with 1 King Bed @ $129.00 per night available). Rooms are booked from Wed. Feb.23rd - Mon.Feb. 28, 2011; if you need to change arrival or departure date please mention while booking to ensure no additional charges occur. Rooms are put aside for LAC families until Jan. 23rd, 2011, whereby extra rooms will be released to the general public. Please call the Holiday Inn Express at (613) 690-0100 if you would like to reserve a room (your own credit card is required). First come, first served basis.
