CONGRATULATIONS
A belated "well done" to those swimmers who participated in the Brock Winter Invitational on Sun.Jan.9.
This is always a challenging racing experience having come out of some tough holiday training, and many of you responded well to the challenge. Special kudos to Ericka Masse and Vincent Cappa for accumulating the highest performance points totals at the meet.

LAC EQUIPMENT
Backpacks are again being ordered. Should you wish to place an order please email Jacqui at [email protected] by January 26th including how you would like your swimmers name to appear on the bag. The cost for the backpacks is $90. Cheques can be given to either Jacqui Saunders or Mary Allen no later than Saturday January 29th. This will be the last order for this swim season.
OFFICIALS’S CLINICS
Western Ontario Swimming Association Officials’ Clinics
When: Sat March 5, 2011 Registration & Coffee: 8:30 am
Where: Fanshawe College St Thomas Campus (120 Bill Martyn Parkway)
Sessions: 9:00 am – 11:30 am and 12:30 – 3:00 pm
Lunch will be provided Free of Charge.
Clinics to be presented: Stroke and Turn/Head Lane Timer, Chief Finish Judge/Chief Judge Electronics, Recorder Scorer, Chief Timer, Clerk of Course, Referee, Meet Manager and Starter.
Please notify Dave Bloch-Hansen [email protected] if you will be attending. If you wish to attend specific clinics, please add the clinic info to your email and we will try to accommodate your requests.
Further information will be posted on the club website under parent’s information when it becomes available.
JUNIOR SC PROVINCIALS - UPDATE
If there is the possibility that you may have a swimmer travelling to Nepean for SC Provincials and you would like them to Team Travel then please contact your swimmer's coach immediately. This includes swimmers who do not as of yet have their provincial time but may attain it at SC Regionals. Also, if you might be interested in chaperoning this meet please contact Donna or Andrew. Team Travel will only be offered should we have enough swimmers and a chaperone for this event.
JUNIOR SC PROVINCIALS – HOTEL ROOMS
Hotel rooms have been put aside for LAC families at the Holiday Inn Express, Ottawa, 45 Robertson Rd (just opened Aug., 2010). Classic rooms with 2 queen beds, free parking, "Smart Start Breakfast Bar" included in rate of $149.00 per night (one room with 1 King Bed @ $129.00 per night available). Rooms are booked from Wed. Feb.23rd - Mon.Feb. 28, 2011; if you need to change arrival or departure date please mention while booking to ensure no additional charges occur. Rooms are put aside for LAC families until Jan. 23rd, 2011, whereby extra rooms will be released to the general public. Please call the Holiday Inn Express at (613) 690-0100 if you would like to reserve a room (your own credit card is required). First come, first served basis.

NEWMARKET INVITATIONAL TEAM TRAVEL
Team travel will be offered for this meet if there is sufficient interest. Based on 25 swimmers, the cost would be approximately $225, which includes bus, hotel and meals. Chaperones are also required. Please indicate in the Event SignUp section if you are planning to team travel, and if you are interested in chaperoning please notify Donna or Andrew.
TRAVEL ACCOUNTS – Last Chance to Win one of two $75 vouchers
Travel accounts are due upon receipt and prompt payment is always appreciated. Further information on payment options can be found by logging in to the member section and looking under travel accounts. Please contact me by e-mail at [email protected] if you have questions.
To encourage the use of online payments, two prizes of $75 are being offered for travel account payments made online by Friday January 21st. The prizes are for vouchers to be used to purchase LAC equipment and /or clothing.
One prize will be offered for those using TelPay and a second prize for those paying on using TD Canada Trust (Note: Anyone using both will be entered in the TD pool).
Notes:
- If you have paid by cheque already or have a credit balance, please contact Steve to find out how you can be entered.
- Any adjustments for the CAMO team travel will be included on the next travel statement.
- If you are expecting a significant credit for magazine sales that will offset your account balance, no payment is required at this time.
