MASTERS MIXER Congrats to all those who competed in the 1st Annual PASEO AQUATICS MASTERS MIXER-- and what a fantastic day it was! We saw a couple of Dads rip off sub-one minute 100 Frees-- Tri Swimmers using flip turns for the first time-- Coaches taking on the Youth swimmers in a fight to the finish relay-- and much more!! The team has grown tremendously, and due to the size, we are unable to list every swimmers' accomplishments. WESTERN ZONE CHAMPIONSHIPS: USA SWIMMING either needs to re-name this event or take a geography lesson, as some of the nation's fastest Age Group swimmers who attended this meet were not only from the West Coast, but Virginia, Georgia, Texas, the Carolinas and Canada as well. BUENA LONG COURSE OPENER: The Buena Long Course Opener will be held this Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, at the Buena Ventura Swim Complex in Ventura. Novice swimmers will be competing in the morning session, Blue and JO swimmers in the afternoon. The afternoon session will begin no earlier than 12 Noon with warm up to start 45 minutes prior to the first race. CENTRAL CALIFORNIA JUNIOR OLYMPICS: The PASEO AQUATICS swim program shined this weekend at the Central California Junior Olympics, where Paseo Aquatics took home 7 overall Medals, including 2 Gold and 3 Bronze. The meet was huge-- and a huge success! JULIA WOLF won the Gold in the GIRLS 12-UNDER 50 FREESTYLE with a personal best 25.39! She also won the Gold in the GIRLS 12-UNDER 50 BACKSTROKE with another personal record of 28.51. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA JUNIOR OLYMPICS: Paseo Aquatics' own Julia Wolf took home the Silver Medal in the 50 Backstroke and 2 Bronze Medals in the 50 Freestyle and 200 Backstroke at this weekend's SoCal Junior Olympics in Huntington Beach. Julia finished 2nd to the #1 Ranked 12-Under swimmer in the U.S. and 3rd behind the #1 and #4 Ranked Age Group swimmers in the country. RIO MESA SWIM MEET: Congrats to all those who competed in last weekend's Rio Mesa JO Qualifier. We had every group level represented-- and came away with winners in several events, including a couple Central California Junior Olympic Qualifiers.
