Centennial was down nine swimmers due to illnesses during its December 20, 2022 meet against Blaine. Senior Captain Max Scheurer led the Centennial Cougars in its second place finish at the December 17, 2022 Bengal Invitational Swimming Meet. Scheurer placed first in both the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.88 and the 100 Breaststroke with a time of :57.57 which is a new school record. The Centennial Cougars began the 2022-2023 season by participating in the Northwest Suburban Conference Relays Meet hosted by Anoka on December 10th. The team performed pretty much as Head Coach Pete Crawford predicted by taking second place out of the six teams on its side of the conference. The Centennial Boys Swimming & Diving 2021-2022 season was brought to completion with the fantastic performances by Junior Captain Max Scheurer at the 2022 Minnesota State Swimming and Diving Championships meet. The Centennial Boys Swimming team posted 35 personal record swims, broke 3 middle school records and set a new varsity record at the 2022 Section 7AA Championship Prelims swimming meet that took place on Feb 25, 2022. 100% of the Centennial swims resulted in lifetime best times. The Centennial boys swimming team battled the Blaine Bengals for the seventh-place ranking in the twelve team Northwest Suburban Conference on February 2. Centennial’s disappointing loss to Armstrong on January 27, 2022 brings its dual season record to 3 wins and 3 losses.
