Dear LSAC Family,

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone for our team and one of our outstanding athletes! It is with great pride that we share the news of Emily Morales signing with the prestigious Army West Point Academy.

Committing to West Point isn't just about signing on the dotted line; it's about embracing a legacy of excellence, leadership, and unwavering commitment. It's about stepping into a realm where ordinary boundaries cease to exist, and where greatness is not only pursued but expected.

West Point Academy isn't just a place; it's a calling. It's a beacon of opportunity for those who dare to dream big and work even harder to turn those dreams into reality. It's a testament to the courage and fortitude of individuals who refuse to settle for mediocrity and instead choose to carve their paths to success with sheer determination and resilience.

This accomplishment not only speaks volumes about Emily Morales’ dedication and talent but also reflects the hard work and support of our entire LSAC family. As a team, we have witnessed Emily Morales demonstrate resilience, commitment, and sportsmanship in and out of the pool.

By committing to West Point, Emily is not only embarking on a transformative journey of self-discovery and growth but is also becoming part of an esteemed community of leaders, scholars, and champions. She will be surrounded by some of the brightest minds and most dedicated individuals, all united by a common goal: to push boundaries, break barriers, and leave a lasting impact on the world.

Join us in congratulating Emily Morales on this incredible achievement! We are confident that she will continue to excel academically, athletically, and as a leader at West Point Academy.

She will sign this Friday, February 23rd, 2024 at Georgetown HS Lower/Small Gym.

Please stay tuned for a special LSAC celebration/send-off event in honor of Emily Morales as she embarks on this exciting journey.

Once again, congratulations to Emily Morales and best wishes for a bright and successful future at West Point Academy!

More about Emily:

How long have you been swimming?

I’ve been swimming for thirteen years.

How did you get into swimming?

My family was stationed in Ft. Irwin, CA when I was in kindergarten. In the middle of the Mojave desert, there was not much to do besides swimming. I took some swim lessons and eventually joined an intramural swim team.

What are your plans for next year?

I will be attending the United States Military Academy to run cross country and track.

Long term plans?

After graduation, I will join the Army.

Favorite LSAC memory?

I really enjoy our LSAC team dinners after practice at Tony C’s or in between sessions at a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio.

Favorite swim?

I really enjoy swimming the 50 free and the 100 fly. I also strangely like the 400 IM.

Recommendations for young kids?

I recommend that kids should do things they love. You don’t want to dread going to practice everyday. You want to be able to look forward to practice after a really awful day.

Are you swimming in college?

I am not swimming in college, but I am running.

Academic advice?

Take academics seriously because doing so will help you out in the long run. If you slack off in school, it’s harder to be successful.

Who is your favorite coach?

Coach Adam is my favorite coach. I have grown up swimming with him, and I love his encouragement.

Other pointers?

Have fun! You are only a kid once :)
