Our Busy Spring Continues

After 3 events scheduled for last weekend, sane coaches would go a bit lighter in the next few weeks.  Well, we’re not those sane coaches.

This Saturday, we’ve got two different events happening—an away meet at New Berlin and a Red Cross Blood Drive.

Next Saturday, even more festivities!

Thank You

From the meet itself, which ran clean as a whistle…to the Swim School Challenge, one of the coolest things we’ve done…to the Golf Scramble, which grew in every way from last year….it was a big weekend for Storm and required so many people to do a lot for the team out of the goodness of their hearts.  I wanted to thank the parents, the swimmer volunteers, the parents who don’t have swimmers anymore, the parents from other teams, all the folks who made last weekend a success.

Next Weekend

On May 18th, after our Typhoon/Senior/Performance practice ends, we’ve got TWO events happening.

First, a Total Team Practice.  One of the favorite activities of all our swimmers, we’ll pair the Typhoon/Senior/Performance swimmers with swimmers from Thunderstorm/ Tropical/ Cyclone/ Hurricane/ Tsunami. Swimmers will work 1v1 on stroke, turns, starts, and have a little fun and breakfast afterwards.

Then, Burn Boot Camp has invited us to try a free 45 minute session.  We’d LOVE to see heavy attendance from our 12&U swimmers there!  Find info here.

Six Flags, Anyone?

We’re going to celebrate the end of the school year with a day at Six Flags!  On Wednesday, June 12th, swimmers (whether active for summer or not), siblings, family, friends, and other teams are all invited to head to Six Flags to make friends and memories together.  Families should arrive at 2, and can stay for as long as they want.  Group tickets are available here.

Summer Session

Details and fee structures are up for the summer session and can be found here.  It starts immediately after Memorial Day and will run through the end of July.

There’s a credit back to your account of 10% of summer fees for anyone who’s doing both Storm and summer league.

I’ve touched on this summer’s opportunities a bit already, with expanded Rising Stars and varied competition opportunities.  One thing folks will need to plan early for is our Travel Meet.  Our plan is to do some group travel if possible to do a prelims/finals meet at the end of June in the Indianapolis suburbs of Noblesville.  The Enchanted Forest meet, open to all 11&O, will either be team vans or a bus, depending on the number of interested swimmers.  This will be a chaperoned event.  If your swimmer would want to participate in this, please declare them NOW so we can plan out transportation and lodging.
