Equipment Needed

TYR Flexfin, TYR kickboard, water bottle, snorkel, tempo trainer, paddles, buoy, mesh bag for storage

Prerequisites

11-12 Prerequisites

  • USA "BB" cuts in at least one stroke preferred
  • Coach Approval

13-14 Prerequisites

  • USA "B" cut in at least one stroke preferred
  • 100 yards of legal freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly
  • Coach Approval

Practice Details

~1:10 minutes per practice, offered 5-7 times per week plus dryland

*No minimum requirement*

Recommended: at least 4 in-water practices plus one dryland

Competition

  • No requirements during regular season meets
  • 2 session minimum of the highest-level championship meet recommended by the coaching staff

In-Water Focus

In the Typhoon group practices will get more challenging while not forgetting to keep the swimmer engaged and enjoying the sport.  Swimmers will spend more time working on race scenarios and strategies, will begin season goal-setting, and will be challenged to complete their IMX events.

Other Notes

Swimmers in the Typhoon group will continue to be challenge to be their best in academics, athletics, and in character.  Swimmers will work on all strokes and skills, not yet specializing in specific strokes/events.  Swimmers will be encouraged to participate in distance/IM/open water events.
